Actually, quite a few people knew. And though the majority of the media picked Lacy, more than a couple U.S. scribes noted that he looked horrendous in both of those fights you mentioned and was quite overrated.

THERE IS NO WAY that Jeff Lacy won that fight...

even if you do credit him with the knockdown...

he still would have lost by like 9 points or something...

i gave him 2 rounds...so even if you add the knockdown that makes it 9 points...

audio or no audio for the most part it was a one sided fight. im not going to say lacy got upended because he had his moments and chances to capitalize on the sitauations but i felt as if he passively continued instead of taking a chance to chance the flow of the fight.

we pretty much saw taylor do anything he wanted in there...like those series of body punches...that was a good 5-7 body punches without a response from lacy.

i dont think he'll ever get this rematch and i dont really think he deserves it because honestly it wasnt even close enough (on points or even in general) for anyone to really want to see this again...it would make a great PPV undercard fight but its not really worth the time of the fans to see the same fight over...

however paulie did rematch ndou after the first fight was even more onesided than this one ever could me...

        so you never know.

my opinion is taylor won the fight very convincingly.

Ah man Lacy is boring me now with his bag of ready made excuses.
When are you gonna look good again Jeff?
Excuse made for every single fight since Joe.You would think by now he would realise
            his ruined....
Latest is watch the fight without the sound on and he won blah blah blah

I somehow ended up in the Florida section ringside for this fight. All the commentating around me was for Lacy, and it just sounded funny. If anyone was there it was the section next to press row where random people kept yelling St. Pete in the background. They would make a ruckus every time Lacy landed, trust me it was not often (LOL). Lets just say the entire section left after the 11th round. So much for Lacy winning even his own biased fans knew what the result was. In fact I think the judges gave him tooo many rounds. It was ovbiously 11-1 Taylor, with a knockdown lets make 11-2, so what.
I think the allan green fight is the best shot lacy has of making a semi-big fight. That and maybe a miranda fight would be an exciting one.

                By G. Leon

GL: Can you give us some thoughts on your performance against Jermain Taylor and tell us what went wrong? "I think I did everything right. If you turn the volume off the television set, you'll see a totally different fight. I feel I pushed the action of the fight. Jermain Taylor held me every time I got close to him. He got shots in and so did I. But from the telecast, they're not talking about nothing I did and nothing I was throwing that was penetrating and that's what made it seem like a one-sided fight. If you turn the volume off your television and view the fight again, you'll see a totally different fight. I was the aggressor in the fight."

GL: Does that mean you feel you won the fight?

Jeff Lacy: "Yes. I feel like I won the fight."

GL: What were you doing that the judges weren't seeing?

Jeff Lacy: "I felt the judges were overlooking the aggressiveness that I was showing and the fact that he was holding the whole time."

GL: Do you feel you should have been credited with a knockdown?

JL: "Yes. Most definitely. I never touched his foot, I never stepped on his foot. We didn't step on each others feet the whole fight."

GL: So there was nothing about him that surprised you, you feel like you did what you had to do to get the victory and just didn't get it?

JL: "Exactly. I pressed the action of the fight from round one to twelve."

GL: How do you rate your performance?

JL: "In watching the fight I think there's some things I would have done differently, but I give myself at least a B+ for the performance I put on."

GL: You certainly don't sound discouraged at all, you sound lively. When might we expect to see you back in the ring?

JL: "The thing about it is Greg, I understand what they were doing. Jermain Taylor is a good fighter and I'm not taking anything away from what he did. I felt like Jermain fought a fight like that before. He has never come out and fought like that before and the fact of the matter is, I shut Jermain down. He's not going to tell you, but I shut Jermain down. You look at his performance against me and he was unable to do a lot of things that he normally does. I thought I lead the fight and I stopped Jermain from doing a lot of things he thought he was going to be able to do with me."

GL: Were you hurt at any point of the fight?

JL: "I was hurt a couple of times, but this is boxing, He caught me with a couple of shots that wobbled me, but I never took a backwards step."

GL: Does a rematch interest you or do you feel the powers that be won't ever let you take a decision over him?

JL: "I would love a rematch with Jermain Taylor. Would I get it due to the way I shut him down and prevented him from fighting his fight? I don't think I'll get a rematch. Should we fight again, I would go into it totally different. I wouldn't leave it in the judges hands next time. I had a lot of things going through my mind for the first couple of rounds, how do you hit a friend? I shouldn't have gotten that involved and just went off. He hit me and I hit him, but I didn't feel like any of us were in there to kill each other. What I came in there to do showed up, I just didn't get credit for it."

GL: What's the soonest we could expect you back?

JL: "As soon as Golden Boy can get me back in the ring."

GL: Who are some of the guys that interest you?

JL: "It doesn't matter. I'll let you be my promoter for this interview. You tell me."

GL: You know who people would love to see you fight, but it would be inapproriate for me to answer that since I represent Allan Green.

JL: "You know what though, Allan Green needs to prove himself at the same time. Allan Green isn't at the same level as a fighter like myself. Allan Green has to prove himself, I'm not going to just give somebody an opportunity. I would fight Allan Green and I have no problem fighting him, but at the same time he's going to have to prove himself to get it."

                GL: Closing thoughts?

JL: "I won that fight, turn the volume off and you'll see a different outcome than what you saw on television."

Which fool said Lacy is Joe's best win? Are you nuts? Eubank, Reid, Kessler, Brewer, Mitchell, and possibly one or two others are better wins... Lacy is way down the list!

It wasn't the fact that Joe just beat Lacy, it was the way he did it. He shut a lot of mouths that night, not just Jeff's.

Yeah, but while Taylor may not have hit him as many times or bloodied him as much, he hit Lacy's head so goddamn hard he's got the guy thinking he won the fight.

So Taylor lands more punches and is more accurate than Lacy according to compubox, but him pressuring should've won him the fight? Man I hate sore losers in this sport, Taylor shouldn't have carried him. He's complaining about the holding, but I remember him doing most of the holding when Taylor first had him hurt, the guy even held right after the ref broke them apart
