who are all these people who picked bowe by decision?

i would say, vitali would be up for this fight if there was a prime bowe climbing the ladder. vitali is up there with the smartest fighters. he is able to adapt and change his gameplan halfway through a round. so, bowe may only possibly give him trouble for a few moments before being too frustrated or being knocked.

i get the sense that vitali only cares about fighting the toughest, most challenging opposition. so i understand he was obviously pissed off when lewis retired.

and vitali, even with injuries, and being out of the ring for nearly 4 years, and having no warm ups, and at his age dominating a guy who is considered an extremely hard puncher with deceptive reach, proved that age doesn't mean as much as lewis would make it out to be. or lewis fans perhaps i mean.

i wouldn't mind seeing VK stick around for 2 or 3 more fights. i want to see him chop valuev down. but, of course, this young challenging contender named evander holyfield was chosen. what a pu$$y move by valuev!

is anyone intrigued by the holyfield/valuev fight? does it even make sense? damn!

          bowe.

just as good on the outside , much superior on the inside.

bowe's chin is very good. i doubt vitali could knock him out.

prime bowe can also go the distance. how many times has vitali gone the full 12 or even 10?

people have short memories. people think of bowe and think of the golota fights. that was NOT a prime bowe and tbh that version of golota gives vitali all he can handle.

bowe's problem was his dedication to the sport. prime bowe was a very good fighter.

Bowe couldn't handle big, strong heavyweights with good jabs....that's why he ducked Lennox lewis.

Vitali KO's Bowe within 9 rounds
Golota exposed Bowe as being being past it. Bowe's wars with a prime Holyfield, plus his lifestyle outside the ring with blowing up 50 pounds between fights, destroyed him. It was well known that Bowe had more Wars with the Refrigerator than in the ring.

Mackie Shilstone, who worked with Bowe for a bit to get him in shape, could only do it for so long since Bowe wasn't disciplined for the long haul.

Bowe was good when he was motivated and listened to Eddie Futch...but he was exposed as far as not wanting it as much as Holyfield as far as a career goes or he would have stayed in tip-top shape.

              agreed , mr. benny.

people underrate bowe because of the golota fights , the lennox lewis/trashing belts incidents and i feel he doesn't get enough credit for the holyfield wins because holyfield was so much smaller than him.

the golota fights was a past prime (one could argue shot) bowe.

he made a mistake not fighting lennox imo......lennox at the time was not yet as polished as he would later become and was yet not , shall we say , protective of his chin. bowe had a good chancing of beating that version of lennox.

although smaller than bowe , holyfield was awesome in his prime. bowes wins over him were impressive. people forget bowe beat a prime holyfield. we all know what a past prime holyfield did to tyson and how well an old holyfield fought lennox.

                I would add:

George Foreman, who would later win back the title, lost to Holyfield and it's not like Holyfield was dancing around the ring to keep away like a young Ali could do.

Vitali was arguably still in his prime against Lewis and Vit couldn't take out a past prime fighter despite being more motivated than Lewis and in better shape...Oh, and he lost.
