Oscar only fights once, maybe twice a year. The date it was to occur was the only time the fight was going to be offered to Floyd, so Floyd had to move. Floyd knew almost a year in advanced that he was on the short list for Oscar so he waited for the call. As soon as there was talk about Oscar and Floyd being serious, Arum jumps in at the last minute to say his offer to Floyd to fight Margarito. Plus, 8 million would have to come from Floyd's fans since there is no way Arum can put up 8 million based on Margarito.

So tell me this: If you know you are going to make min. 12 million fighting Oscar, would you fight Margarito for 8, which isn't going to be in your bank account until after the fight, and that is hopefully it is in there. Oscar can wire that money into Floyd's bank account by selling one of his watches that is in-between his coach pillows. And I think Floyd made a crazy amount when it was all said and done.

If Arum was serious, he could have always made a counter offer to what Oscar was offering, but he didn't.

Arum never had 8 million before that...it was a much lower offer.

Joe Calzaghe just put 2 HOFers on his resume. It caught him nothing but flak.

What were the responses after Joe beat Roy?

        "Roys old"
"Roy would have won in his prime"
"Why doesn't Joe ever fight guys in their primes?"

We'd see a repeat of that **** immediately after the fight.

Yup. Adding 2 million to your bank account, plus getting your name out there by fighting Shane can be big money in the future if you win.

However, if Margarito can get a fight and more money somewhere else, he should go for it.

Shane is past his prime, I agree...but many have said he beat Cotto and he's being hyped a bit since his last fight ended in KO.

If he can fight Williams, go for that, but I don't know if he will. Who else is there?

Maybe he should just try to unify the titles.

I think you're overstating Margarito's worth here, Puas.

That said, this is a good thing. Mosely doesnt deserve to be in the ring with Marg after the Mayo fight. A Berto/Mosely fight is more interesting anyway. I just hope both guys fight sooner rather than later, in their respective bouts.

Mosley is his prime now? Or near the very end of a career?

You guys do realize Shane is 37, right?

End of his career; I agree.

So tell Margarito to forget this fight and move on. He can fight Williams or Berto next.

I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Joshua Clottey again. It was a close fight up until Josh injured his hand.

Margarito will take the Cotto rematch on PPV for a few mil more than Golden Boy was trying to pay him.
The point is, the same exact thing Margarito is doing now is what Mayweather did to Margarito and yet all the gay nuthuggers like you claimed Floyd was ducking Tony. Well eat your own medicine now ***** cus it's obvious by your own accounts that Margarito is now officially ducking SUGAR SHANE MOSLEY.

I think Margarito's name is out there, Benny. Shane has a following, but he's way past his prime, and let's face it.....the allure is way gone. Plus, Shane was never DLH in pulling PPV money. Not even in same league.
