He's not going to get these kinds of paydays anywhere else apart from a rematch with Cotto.
Don't forget to add PPV buys into it which would bring it to 3-4 mil. 2mil with no additional bonuses, no that I think about it, you can't blame him.

Shane is the attraction: it's who puts asses in the seats; it's business.

I don't know how Mexico is doing right now but in the States nobody can shell out that kind of money for fights right now. Everybody is going to take a cut.

Arum is Margarito's promoter: if he can come up with more money, tell him to put it up and make the fight.

He's still not going to get those paydays anywhere else. Mayweather won't fight him, he won't fight Williams, Cotto and Mosley are the only guys he can expect to bring him that type of money.

I thought I heard HBO was undecided if they wanted to put it on PPV.

The rate PPVs are going, 2 million is a decent offer.

But hey, if Margarito can get more, so be it. He has to go where the money is.

Perhaps. Perhaps not. But, Oscar was always available for Floyd because of the money (and still there for a b.s. rematch). But, Margarito isn't "Margaritowho" now. He's the king.

The low ball offer implies that Shane would be getting the bigger cut.

How do you know he won't fight Williams?? Didn't he already fought him once??? lol Do you really believe the offer was made??
Anyways with this just happening it wouldn't surprise me if Arum pushes the rematch sooner than June.

That muth****a is crazy thinking margorito would have an easy fight beating mayweather it took him six rounds to catch a guy that isn't nearly the fighter Floyd is that is ****ed up and margorito shouldn't have fought willams if he wanted Floyd once he lost that 8mill was down to like 2 or 3 and Floyd did better spanking Ricky...I have no problem with holding out for money but where the **** he gonna get a better offer? No one will buy a PPV with him and some no name more would buy for Mosely Mayweather or even Cotto than Margorito.

There's no proof of that but it's a reasonable assumption, still, where else would he get a multi million dollar payday apart from Cotto, which is already lined up for June.

He fought him once because it was either fight Williams or lose the belt, he chose to try and keep the belt. He already turned Williams' offer of $4 million down, he's never even said that Williams didn't offer him the fight, so yes, I believe the offer was made.

There is somebody fighting on November 29th that would disagree with you. I still can't believe that some of you are actually thinking this is a good look for Margarito. It's astounding. He is turning down 2 million, plus a chance of putting a Hall of Famer on his resume, which to some of you, is an automatic win for Margarito. This ****ing place never ceases to amaze me....
