when you're skilled like that hard to develop new skills. roy was fine he just shouldn't have stuck around so long.

floyd will have that problem too watch. floyd won't be able to compete at an old age. to be good at an old age i think you need size.

bernard is a good size so he was able to compensate for slowing down.

roy and floyd fight in divisions way above their natural weight class. (bernard might have stayed at 160 and roy fought mostly at 175 but i think roy is a natural 160-168 guy and bernard is naturally bigger than roy i think)

    You ***** by the way,

To be good at an old age...You need a certain kind of drive, Love for the sport and Floyd no longer has it...So I might agree with you, Floyd might not be able to be dominant at an old age.

When people talk about Pernell whitaker being more skilled than Mayweather, I politely disagree. Even just solely based on defense, I would still say Mayweather.

I know that sounds ridiculous, but the reason I say that is because Pea was great on defense no doubt, but I also lump in counterpunching with defense. I think Mayweather was a much, much better counterpuncher than Pea. Even though Pea was unhittable through most of his career and had the best upperbody movement in the world, he didn't punish fighters for their mistakes as well as Mayweather did.

Also, I think Mayweather has a much more solid grip on fundamental defense. Sure he might get more contact from punches than Pea did, but all of that contact is diffused with the way he blocked, used his gloves, shoulders, and forearms. Pernell's defense was more of the flashy, upper body and head movement variety. Bottom line is Mayweather's defense is just as effective in the end as Pea's if not more.

Yeah, he's there with Sweet Pea and Roy, despite many negative opinions about him, he was clearly the most skilled fighter of this era.

I think Floyd is the most skilled alive..and the most skilled ever.

              He was perfect.

Some Say Roy Jones...but he made to many mistakes in the ring..Floyd made none.

He's definitely the best of this decade and of his generation but there were many skilled fighters out there in history, i dunno. I certainly can't see nothing wrong in anything i've ever seen him do in a ring but i never saw Robbinson fight live. I'd say he's Roy Jones good but with good fundamentals.

                  In the Top 5

Duran: Greatest defensive infighter...This natural 135 pounder went 15 rounds with Hagler and lost by 3 rounds. He K.O'd Iran Barkley...and the way he beat SRL 1st fight was jus amazin.

Mayweather: No need to explain you just ca't hit him clean, even if you had him against the ropes.

Prime James Toney altough, he wasn't very consistent...Like for example, he'd be that DAMN good and in his next fight he'd be good.

                  Pernell Whitaker: Needz no explaing

B-Hop: Still kickin azz at an old age and has GREAT defense. In his prime he was a BEAST a wicked brawler who STILL couldn't be hit even tough he wasn't as defensive as now.

Duran did not KO Barkley he won on points but he did have a huge 10th or 11th round where he nearly Ko'ed him he had him down and hurt badly

I can only judge from the fighters I have seen footage of but out of those Mayweather is definately right up there if you are looking at pure skills. When I want to watch an incredible display of ability I usually either put on a Floyd or Pernell DVD.
