The internet is the death of almost anything. It started with music, now with DVD and you're right....PPV.

Thats good as most PPVs are terrible with dreadful undercards and mismatched main events.

Amir Khan is on PPV in the UK and he is fighting nobodies.

i doubt it. unless theres HD-quality streams, PPV will always have business. alot of fans watch big fights with alot of family and friends. whats better? bunch of people crowded by a computer screen or a big screen tv with loud sound wit couches and relaxation. but i do agree the prices should drop to maybe 35-40 US.

i watch streams as i havent got sky to watch setanta or skysports on, so i have no other way, and i download the next day if the fights worth a watch. If i could subscribe i would to setanta as its a reasonable �10 a month i think which isnt bad when you consider they show near enough all the big events on there. And i would get box office out for hattons fights now as i been a huge fan and love to watch him live, **** khan lol. Skysports i wouldnt subscribe to i think its a poor channel for boxing now there is setanta. skysports is great if you like the range of other sports but for me, purely a boxing fan i would say, stick sky up your ass.
I hope internet doesnt take over as most the streams i watch when i can be arsed to stay awake are very poor, probably by internet connextion i dont know but still id much rather spend a few quid per month and watch on the telly.

If a PPV fight was �5 as opposed to �15 I wouldn't bother with the Internet, but seen as those these fcukers prefer to rip me off by charging me a subscription cost (yet flood me with fcuking adverts inbetween rounds)...then bump an extra �15 on top to watch the fight...forget it.

I hope so, PPV has been ruining boxing lately. When there was fewer PPV events it was worth it. Now I think boxing is driving fans away because every big fight is on PPV. If I was a casual sports fan I might have wanted to watch Calzaghe-Jones but saw that it costs $50 and said "no thanks". That's really where boxing and more importantly HBO has it wrong. They decided a while back that instead of reaching out and grabbing the "new fans", we'll just cater to the hardcore fans. Great for us, bad for the sport as a whole. Why do you think MMA is so popular, it's available and attracts new fans.

I wouldn't be so sure. HBO and others were hot on the RJJ Calzaghe fight. Loads of streams being shut down. I was amazed at how efficient they were doing so.

When they want to, the big boys can get real heavy with law on their side. Music piracy is being clamped down on in the UK by ISP's from Government pressure. It's enough to scare people off.
