He didnt show a great chin against inactive lightweight Lazcano in his last fight, he was hurt, fatigued and possibly saved by the uk ref when Lazcano was having his momentum going

That's bull**** created by that idiot at Showtime, Wally Matthews. Hatton wasn't seriously hurt - Ricky continued on the attack after he was hit, and had fully recovered well before he tied his laces.

Watch the British call of the fight, it's MUCH better.

Who cares, Malignaggi is hardly going to hurt Hatton.

He wasn't hurt that badly - the ref wasn't trying to help him. The ******* Showtime commentator Matthews made it SEEM that way - judge by what you actually SEE and not by what Matthews is saying.

Watch the BRITISH commentary, you'll have a very different idea of what was happening!

Just because Matthews told you he was saved by the ref, doesn't mean it actually happened! He's a miserable, negative jackass who seems to hate the sport of boxing.

                  i agree with you 110%.

You cant EASILY tell hatton was hurt...he wasnt looking to hold and hit...he was simplpy just looking to hold to get his balance/legs back...

i dont blame the ref for warning about holding hatton's head down and hitting him with body punches but i DO blame the ref for allowing hatton to get his shoe tied at such a crucial moment...

if a fighter is in danger of being knocked down you DONT stop the fight for something of that nature...even when fighters ARENT hurt they dont stop the fight to put another mouthpiece in very often (it happens sometimes but not majority of the time).

I think hatton was definately hurt and if the ref didnt give him so much time and allow him to get his shoe tied he may have went down...not knocked out...but knocked down...

even someone who is as old as lazcano (and past their prime) was able to beat hatton to the punch (especially in that round 10 clip v. hatton where he landed those two big right hands easily) then someone of paulie's speed should be able to really outbox hatton and be able to stick and move (especially in the late rounds) with ease.

I say Hatton is fast enough to get past Malignaggi's jab and wear him down with an accumulation of punches.

If you want to bet more points on this fight, let me know.
