but david haye gets kaught way too often...ok
what heavyweight is quick enuff to katch him enuff and knock him out
    without getting knocked out themselves...
haye is a gifted fighter and reminds me a lot like a heavy weight roy jones
the way he puts the right hand out in front and keeps the left low...
bottom line he relies on his athleticsm as his defense and he will continue
to be successful with it until he loses a step as he gets older...
    hopefully we wont witness that
but that being said...every great fighter has lost
so if haye loses at heavy i hope people dont flood
with the overrated and i knew this would happen chants
bottom line, everbody loses....he may get kaught
he may lose, its what he does to rectify the situation
    that will verify his greatness
Don't get me wrong I like Haye but I thought after his move to HW he would adopt a slightly safer defense. I just don't see him beating Klitschko if he employs that hands down style.

Wlad's output in comparison to Haye's?

Haye was a lot worse back in the day. He pretty much held his hands on his hips!

Obviously his opponents weren't the best quality wise but he's in with the big fish now and his got to keep the left hand up to have any chance of winning a HW title!

Problem is, i can't see Haye changing his fight style. Which for some reason i don't have a problem with LOL?!?

He looked to be holding them slightly higher especially early on, but not consistently that high. Eventually he just stopped all together. With Calzaghe he gets away with it using speed/reflexes and tends to get hit less with his hands down oddly. Hayes leaning forwards style, and lesser movement/angles don't lend so well to it though.

Sure his reflexes are good, but all Wlad's gotta do is pump his long arm forwards and the right moment Hayes near and he's in trouble. He also leans in sometimes low and gets caught which he even acknowledged Monte on.

Thing is, if grazing shots were enough to trouble Monte, I think Wlads grazing shots would trouble Haye more. So why bother holding your hands high, obscuring your view, feeling un comfortable in a way? OK that doesn't fully stand but you know what I mean, he's fooked either way. Perhaps his best chance at not getting hurt is not his hands and bad defensive skills, but missing the shots all together his extremely speed and reflexes. To be fair he did this with back/side steps, reflexes and head movement a couple of times missing them all together.

Haye is one of those fighters that by the time they are 32 they just cant fight any more cuz they depend on reflexes too much.

thats his style....so i dont see it changing...
and why arent people going krazy about Vitali...
he held his hands down during the entire fight against Peter
why??? because he knew peter was slow enuff and wouldnt katch him...
same thing with david haye, he knows he is faster than most
and he will get away as long as he has the reflexes

I don't have a problem with it either. It's the same with Froch. Carl says "yes I hold my hands low, and so what? That's the way I like to fight", and indeed, it's worked for him so far. It's worked for Haye also apart from the one blemish on his resume to Thompson. Calzaghe does it, Jones does it, plenty of quality fighters do the same thing. Fortunately for Haye he has ridiculous power and brings excitement to the ring because he takes risks, which in turn forces me to respect how he fights.

vitali towers over his opponants and has to punch down ...haye has to punch eye level or higher...so the hands down comparison isnt valid

Haye has to keep his hands up hes not the tallest hvy weght

Boxers are all different and they all fight to their strength, Am pretty sure Haye's trainers know more than we do.
