Who would you have at Light Heavyweight. Patterson would win this one fairly easy imo, Patterson is to quick and even at heavyweight was considered a big puncher, Patterson didn’t have a very good chin at heavyweight but at light heavyweight it was fine Joe wouldn’t have the power to hurt him and if Roy at Hopkins can put Calzaghe down, Joe would be in real trouble against Patterson. I would see Patterson winning in the first 3-4 rounds.

What has Joe done at LHW??
Beat a shot RJJ while getting knocked down
Getting knocked down against a 43 year old Hopkins, admitting after the fight he was hurt and getting a lucky SD -
Patterson also started in the 160's before blowing up in weight. I have to say, Patterson.
It would be interesting to hear what people think of Joe vs. some of the great light-heavyweights. Back in the day, there was no 168.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 11-17-2008, 06:57 AM.Comment

Yeah i think Joe would take a beating against Patterson to be honest, it would be a bad style match up for him. Patterson was a beast at light heavy.Comment

This is an interesting video: Floyd at 17 as an amatuer.
Look at the fury of his opponent.
Floyd would get bigger/stronger later when he turned pro.Comment

I just don’t see joe having any advantages in this fight, Patterson has better speed, power, defence, footwork and strength, maybe Joe has a better chin but I doubt this as Patterson was only ever Ko’d against big punching heavyweights Ingo and Liston. Patterson's combination punching was amazing for a guy of his size.Comment
