I knew he did anyway. Like in 24/7 when he chose orange juice as an alternative to the beer. Might as well drink!
Mayweather is probably laughing in his hotel room. As long as Hatton sends the check... Come on now whay would Mayweather feel the need to help a guy like Hatton?Last edited by MikeBrew328; 11-16-2008, 08:30 PM.

Mayweather had a shifty defensive style which kept him out of trouble unless he was pressured, {then he might have friendly judges}, and excellent reflexes, which a top athlete HAS to have anyway.
But the main thing which kept him out of trouble, better than his reflexes, was his "brainstrust", which very carefully selected his matches, not for good fights but for certain wins.
That's why he always stunk out any arena he fought in, always fairly empty, even in his home town, until near the end of his career, when he fought some very popular names. {who either stylewise or from age etc were easily beatable}.
I'm not saying he wasn't good, but, the way he enticed Corrales into that fight, when the poor guy was demented with both legal, and wife troubles, not to mention weight, since he was already in a higher weight class, and almost died getting down to the stipulated weight. He knew that he was going to jail after the fight and as his trainers say, they he hardly trained, that they had to drag him away from computer and gameboy games for weeks before the fight,....NOT TO MENTION that 2 weeks before the fight he had surgery to remove very painful wisdom teeth-which is NO joke- the effects of which linger on for weeks, and didn't really train after that.
THEN....the above being, maybe, not sufficient, he was overweight for the first weigh-in, and as a very competent witness, who covered the fight, wrote to me, said, "his skin was grey, and he could hardly move, looked as if he was ready to die......." and much more.
THAT soured me on Mayweather, and deciided me to look at his achievements with a critical eye. not the adoring one that you and others use.
So don't talk {to ME anyway} about how great FishMouth Mayweather is

Some of you guys are pretty sad. How do you know FOR SURE that Hatton doesn't drink during training camps? Are you standing next to him at all times?
NO.
Does Ricky have a drinking problem? YES. Even he's admitted to it, it's pretty much common knowledge by now.
Does Ricky drink during training? We really dont know but to be honest, it wouldn't surprise me one bit.
You guys have to look at both sides of the coin and please stop pretending Hatton is the greatest guy on the face of the Earth. That whole "one of the lads" facade is making me sick.
