Max Kellerman is the ****. He asks exactly what all of us want to know in the post fight interviews, and he's really articulate and clear about his questions. He brings up interesting color commentary and has great knowledge about the game.Comment

max used to get me riled in his early days of espn when he'd inject his rapidfire knowledge of boxing history every fckg time when calling a fight.
but then teddy would put him in his place and tell him to shut the fck up!
now when i watch him and he gets blatantly narsissticly out there i first swear at the tv then chuckle bemusingly.
i think he brings moxy to the announcers booth.
and man of most recent...when i have to watch setantas streams with their announcers... i don't mean this demeaningly but hezuz christie,...blah blah blah!Comment

I think he is the best commentator on their staff, the only reason people hate him is the same reason people would hate me if i made a thread saying joe calzaghe should fight dawson.Comment

Am I the only one who thinks Kellerman is fantastic, and rapidly becoming the best member of the HBO team?
Merchant used to be tremendous, and still is pretty good. But it feels like he's phoning in his performance sometimes. Kellerman is passionate, honest and insightful.
I loved the way he berated the judges for their scores during Oscar v Floyd.
And then months later, he made that speech calling into questioning Floyd's resume.
No bias, just telling it how it is.
He's also called Oscar up on fighting Pac, and slaughtered judging standards during Diaz Vs Katsidis.
Calzaghe fans don't like him because he had the temerity to mention Dawson's name after the RJJ fight....but to me, he was just saying what most fans were thinking. He got Hatton to call out Floyd. If he gets the ball rolling with big fights, what's so bad about that? Nothing, absolutely nothing. Kellerman is a fan, just like us, so if he can use his power to get fighters negotiating fights we want to see, then respect to him.
Yeah, he ****ed up about Eubank knocking down Slappy. It's more a sloppy error than anything major.
I know Larry is a class act and it will be a sad day when he retires for good. But Kellerman seriously rules.
I feel like I'm in good hands with him.
I use to think the man had to be on some major coke to have his eyes as wide as he does, then again i tend to think the rest of the commentators are drunk, but ever since the juan diaz decision i've noticed he's truely grown into a very good anouncer.Comment
