No im filipino. Not ****tin on Calderon or anything. He's an excellent fighter. But he's Chris John kind of excellent. Rarely ever leaving the comfort of Puerto Rico regardless of the prize for doing so.

Oh okay, but of Calderon's 32 fights, 14 of them have been out of Puerto Rico, and of his 14 title fights, 8 of them have been out of Puerto Rico.

Meanwhile Nietes has fought only 2 times out of the Phillippines, both in Indonesia, and both title fights have been in the Phillippines, and how many fights does Nietes have? 27 or something like that.

Now if you want a country that screws the foreign fighter if it goes 12 rounds, you should visit Germany or Japan.

germany and japan have a long history of bad decisions but they have improved alot anselmo moreno just won a very close fight in germany oscar larios just won a very close fight in japan
meanwhile pr is getting more biased with their judges and refs and also canada
but the worst country is probably when u go fight a local fighter at the us in his hometown thats a guaranteed robbery

You can talk as much smack about nietes as you want. Im not even a fan of his. I say Calderon beats him anywhere but in Puerto Rico Nietes wouldn't even have a fighting chance. Hence why im not even amused about the notion of this fight

Come on people, almost half of Calderon's 32 fights have been out of Puerto Rico, hes almost a road warrior.

Just compare him to the other champions in the jr.flyweight division.

Ulises Solis has fought 5 times out of Mexico in 31 fights. He has a 4-1 record
Edgar Sosa has fought 4 times out of Mexico in 38 fights. He has a 4-0 record
Cesar Canchila has fought 1 time out of Colombia in 28 fights. 1-0 record
Ivan Calderon has fought 14 times out of Puerto Rico. Has a 14-0 record

I bet I can compare him to the 105 and 112 pounders and Calderon would still have the most fights out of his country. Even Cazares has fought less times than Calderon out of Mexico. And check that Calderon has as many title defenses out of Puerto Rico as Solis has total sucessful defenses(8) and almost double the defenses Sosa has. Canchila doesnt count cause he just became a champion and doesnt have a title defense.

Germany still screws fighters, just ask John Ruiz and Librado Andrade, dont know about Japan, I still cant believe the puerto rican judge gave Cazares a 115-113 on his favor when Calderon dominated the fight from 1-7 and again from 10-12. Puerto Rico biased? I cant remember the last time a foreign fighter was robbed if there was any.

If he goes to the Philippines, they can make an event out of it. That'd be his best bet for a big paydays IMO.

anyway my prediction in aneutral venue is calderon by close ud
nietes is too small and bigger men have tried against the running midget
WHen has Calderon being in a contoversial decision. He is fights are not even close to score it , for the other guy!!!!!! It doesnt matter where he fights. He is pretty much unbeatable at 105-108, ay 112 he could get KO.
