  • Donnie Nietes Receives Offer For Ivan Calderon Bout

WBO minimum weight champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes won’t have to wait too long to defend his title since internationally prominent matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz has called young Michael Aldeguer of the ALA Gym with two offers. [details]

What? Why would Calderon move down? There are many better opponnets at 108 then there are at 105.

Actually if he were to move down, I'd love to see Calderon vs Gonzalez.

      Calderon would win easily

Calderon would tko Nietes in 10. The way Calderon bullied Dieppa makes me think he would easily beat every 105 pounder not named Roman Gonzalez. Gonzalez looks like a natural 108 pounder and hes like 21-22 years old, by the time he gets to 27 he might look like a 112 pounder. But right now, I still say Calderon gets an not so easy victory. He frustrates Gonzalez with experience, speed, evasion, and technique.

I thought that too but he's too small man

He should alternate 105 - 108 and defend and get all the belts and chill I guess.

Would have been an entertaining thought if it had been anywhere but puerto rico. But of course the minute they suggest any other venue the deal falls through. I say let Calderon get a different belt and the interest in unification will demand a neutral venue. Perhaps on BAD or on a ppv undercard.

Nietes is getting screwed out of his title if he accepts

Nah, hes puerto rican man, hell go for the challenge, but I bet the guy will try to make a championship fight in the 112 division, and will try hard to make that fight in Puerto Rico.
