Paul Williams, Goossen Respond To Margarito-Mosley

Below is a combined response from Paul "The Punisher" Williams and his promoter, Dan Goossen, with respect to the recent articles on BoxingScene.com by Robert Morales (found here) and Mark Vester (found here) - both of which have to do with the stalled negotiations for a potential January 24 bout between Shane Mosley and Antonio Margarito. wonder what their response would be when discussing the mentality of choosing Quintana over Clottey as Paul's first title defense after beating Margarito when Quintana had recently been taken out by Cotto and Clottey gave Margo a hard as fight. Obviously, that bit them in the ass. But even Paul is guilty of what he is criticizing Margarito for.

One thing I don't like about Gossen is that he talks mad **** but when the ball is in his court, he makes excuses and looks for other things.

i am a die hard margarito fan but in this case i am unable to defend him as the points are valid and they make margarito look bad as well:

Remember, Floyd Mayweather didn't lose to Antonio Margarito in turning down an offer and the ability to avenge a loss he didn't have against Margarito, such as Margarito has with Williams.

Remember, Antonio Margarito has turned down millions of dollars and the ability to AVENGE his loss to Williams and if he receives anything less than what our offer was at the time, it should be noted EVERY time his name is reported moving toward that bout, as it was for Mayweather.

Remember, when Antonio Margarito lost to Paul Williams, the NEXT immediate bout, and the NEXT immediate bout and the NEXT immediate bout he didn't make it happen. All Antonio Margarito has done is turn down Millions of Dollars and the chance of AVENGING his loss!"

To me the Floyd 8 million dollar **** is just as bull**** as the 4 mil. Floyd didn't want no business with Arum and Margarito pretty sure wants Williams again but Arum will prob sue his ass again.

Goosen has very good valid points however Tony Margs is still an avoided fighter and SS is going after him. Goosen should just keep his trap shut and put up more money so someone will be willing to take a risk and fight Pwill.
The reason no one wants to fight him isnt cause he is feared or ducked its because he brings nothing to the table but a tough match.
Fighters now are doing the Floyd and taking the most money for the least risk.

Goosen is talking alot of **** though too. Not everyone is like shane who fights all. ObvioiuslyArum is afraid that Tony will lose so he wants more moneyfor a fight with Mosley and that sets up his dream match with Cotto.

I bet Arum is hoping that Cotto wins so there can be a trilogy and more money for him.

If he si so concerned with redeeming himself he should have Pwill fight Quintana in the rubber match so Carlos can try to avenge his loss.
Goosen is being a little hypocritical IMO.
