Calzaghe isn't a big name in the states.

Only in US, and only because he wins. Why don't HBO sell fights for 10$ on streaming on the INTERNET, then the hole world would pay to see there fights, and some excellent fights could be made.

The projected 500 buys, is that just for the States?

I would think so, 500k was what most people expected, apparently HBO expected that number too.

Well Setanta didn't run it as a PPV. Maybe that resulted in less buys?

They must have known Setanta wasn't going to do it as a PPV, so the projected numbers most likely was for the States only.

Hopefully this is the start of the end of PPV. I am not surprised that this flopped and I expect DLH/Pac to do only about 600k in PPV. No one can afford these PPV's, they are dumb anyways. I bought the PPV but for the quality of this card, which I feel asleep till the main event is complete garb. The whole card ******, even though I am a hardcore fan I doubt I will purchase many more PPVs. I will just stream them or not watch because its been a rip off. There has been two PPVS worthwhile and thats what we need to keep it to 2-4 ppvs a year. Manny V Marquez and Cotto V Margarito both brought in good numbers because they were real fights.

This is just very bad news. I hope that this convinces the broadcasters the need for building up new stars has to come now and that it has to come on free yank TV.
