    What happened to american dominance?

it's quite a funny phenomena that's happening these years. Boxing used to be dominated by american champions, however, that's no longer the case

    Heavyweight - W. Klitscho - Ukraine
Light heavy - Calzaghe - Wales
Super middleweight - Mikkel Kessler - Denmark
Middleweight - Arthur Abraham, Germany/Pavlik USA
Welterweight - Antonio Margarito - Mexico
Light Welter - Hatton - Britain

It's a funny turn boxing has taken these later years. I was wandering what you guys think about it? Is american boxing slowly dying or is the competition from across the sea just getting tougher

Kelly Pavlik king of Middleweights. Floyd Mayweather king of welters and any division under that. Forrest may be top at 154. Campbell maybe top lightweight. Cunningham the man at Cruiser. Plus tons of talented prospects coming through the ranks. I'd say America is still bringing the pain.

No one dominates. But right now, as things are, Europa is further ahead in terms of boxing dominance. But Europa isn't a country whereas USA is a biiiig country, with bigger population than all of Europa.

But many of America's top fighters are old men - soon to retire.. DLH, Hopkins, Jones Jr. Boxing is slowly moving towards eastern europe and germany

America is still dominating. You could say Dawson, Hopkins, Pavlik, Cunningham, and Campbell are top 20 P4P. So 5 of the top 20 guys are from the USA. If mayweather didnt retire thats 6 out of 20. Out of 300 plus countries and having 30% of the top 20 fighters I would say that is amazing.

And then a new crop comes in. You already see that with Dawson, Pavlik, and Cunningham. In a few years more will come like Dirrell, Peterson bros, Andrade and Kirkland.
