I always thought Merchant was a clown but Kellerman is a goon.
I'm glad to see that someone agrees with me about Merchant. What an alkie idiot!

But as a presenter and journalist goes, he's not the most impartial, professional and makes too many **** ups. All of that leads me to value his opinion less, he's overly opinionated as a whole too. I respect most other presenters, interviewers, trainers, commentators more because they provide more genuine objective info then Max.

He has made such silly mistakes as the one I mentioned numerous times. See a thread just based on last Saturdays fight.

You're never satisfied. I never hear you bad mouth any commentators from Setanta or whatever else you have other there.

Kellerman is extremely knowledgable, forgive the man for not hanging off of Calzaghe's nuts...... Calzaghe didn't exactly make himself accesible to the American audience, therefore, I doubt many people know or care about whether he knocked down Eubank or vice versa.

            I disagree.

I'm Hispanic myself and I don't feel they should get rid of Max and replace him with a Hispanic because we are under represented.

            Kellerman does a great job.

I'm critical yes, but mostly because I don't see the point in celebrating what's ok-good, only pointing out and discussing wrongs and perceived wrongs. Let's try a **** sandwich. Good, bad, good.

I respect Emmanuel Steward a lot, he makes some very interesting insightful comments and calls things more objectively on the whole. Lampley can be ok, and is quite professional on the whole. Lennox Lewis is ok, sound, insightful commentator on HBO. Hopkins insights and comments on fights are incredibly good and thought provoking. RJJ is very respectful and a class act whenever he's on HBO or tv, certainly now anyway.

This topic is on Max Kellermen however. There's no excuse to say a guy was knocked down in a world championship fight against Eubank more than once. Most within the boxing world knew the basics, if he didn't know that's one thing, but don't say something blatantly false on national tv as a reputable presenter and so called expert. Plus he's done it more than once, that's laughable. He also said Roy made Calzaghe looked like a washed up Tito in R2. Ridiculous. See the thread I linked for more. These are just recent ones, any interview with Kellermen I just don't like the guy, he's constantly getting at something with motives and can't just put his agenda's and opinions aside for the sake of professional commentating and presenting, which one comes to expect. Those are fair valid and backed up criticisms, you can't deny.

As for you mentioning Setanta, their coverage was ok but not great. Richie Woodhall wasn't overly insightful and scored the bout badly. Buncey can be irrational and over hype locals, plus the young small guy doesn't know much.

Setanta's coverage is full of less mistakes, is sounder, but slightly less entertaining. HBO's is full of more opinion, mistakes, odd comments, but is a lot more entertaining. I don't think that's unreasonable.

ya kellerman has been wrong, he is often quick to jump on the bandwagon of the hot new prospect. but he is often the one who also 'keeps it real' he doesnt shy away from what everyone is really thinking, or wanting to say, or the questions we want to hear asked. not always, but often.
he might be a nuthugger sometimes but i think thats cause he's a fan, and he is a fan through and through. i respect him and even though i may not always agree with him, i do think he's always looking for the cheesy liche line etc but at the same time i think he knows his stuff and does a good but not always perfect job.
