I got a whole new appreciation for Kellerman after reading this SI feature written shortly after his brother was murdered:
It's long but worth it.Comment

Not sure what the threads trying to achieve, although I respect the TS. Max Kellermen just giving an opinon of a boxer being the best in his life time, is not knowing anything, it's opinion.
This the same Kellermen whom has said numerous times over months, that Chris Eubank knocked down Calzaghe in the first round. Even though it was the opposite way round, and he said it again and again.
Sorry, I respect RJJ. But Kellermen is a biased ignorant clown.Comment

Kellerman may say some corny stuff, but he knows his ****. He was right on by saying what he said, so i thought I would post that.
Boxing would be allot more exciting if the boxers would get busy like Max always suggests that they do. He is not afraid to lay it down straight and tries to get a boxer to spill the beans. He is a fans analyst and I have grown allot of respect for the guy lately.
I dont think he is a fans 3rd caller. This but there really is a young up n comer rubbish didnt Joe beat Lacy and Kessler both undefeated and i think Kessler would ruin Chad.
Would it be nice to see Joe beat Chad having cleaned out 2 divisions something very few fighter have done, yes.
But Kellerman is a tool, bring back Lewis.Comment

A clown, maybe. Ignorant, no. Kellerman does know his stuff and I did'nt hear him say he knocked Calzaghe down instead of the other way around , which we know is truth.
Kellerman has probably seen more live fights than you and I have when he was 19 and definitely can give an experienced based opinion that is allot more credible than ours. Afterall, he has seen both Joe and Roy in their primes and could make the call better than you or I and probably anyone else on this forum. I'm not saying that he is stating a fact, but he certainly deserves the benefit of the doubt, in my own opinion.Last edited by Chase8400; 11-13-2008, 03:42 PM.Comment

I would'nt call him biased. He just likes to get fighters to commit to the fights he thinks should be made and i thing he speaks as a true boxing fan.

But as a presenter and journalist goes, he's not the most impartial, professional and makes too many **** ups. All of that leads me to value his opinion less, he's overly opinionated as a whole too. I respect most other presenters, interviewers, trainers, commentators more because they provide more genuine objective info then Max.
He has made such silly mistakes as the one I mentioned numerous times. See a thread just based on last Saturdays fight.

It may be a bit a nuthugging statement for someone in his position but it's the truth. I'm obviously a huge Hopkins fan, and there are some other great fighters from our era, but I got to give the nod to Jones as the best of our generation.Comment
