The Final Fight Of Roy Jones Jr.

As i said in a previous post that if Roy Jones will not retire, then he needs to move up in weight where his speed would make a big difference and fight a big slow heavyweight or cruiser. Now some may think of that as suicide, but lets imagine for a moment if the stars aligned and the following scenario panned out.

What if....Holyfield actually upset Valuev? How great would it be for Jones to take on Holyfield for the title that he once held. It would probably bring good ppv dollars for both fighters, they could both retire, and it wouldn't be an unnecessary danger to either fighter. Also, Jones would have a hell of a chance of winning.

I don't want to see either fighter hurt but if they can't be talked out of fighting then they should both fight each other.

not a bad idea....it literally kills me to say this... but he should just have a retirement fight in pensacola against a B fighter and call it a tremendous career

I could honestly see him do this. As long as Holyfield can beat Valuev, which honestly I feel he has a pretty good chance of doing, and Jones can get up to 201lbs, then why not? To the casual boxing fans, this is a dream matchup, those types never care whether the fighters are past their prime or washed up. They could easily sell this ticket. 4 time heavyweight champion takes on lb4lb king. It would also be very competitive with Jones actually being younger, and much faster than his opponent. Why not, I would watch it. Have it take place in between Atlanta (Holyfield's hometown) and Pensecola (Jones' hometown) so that they both get support. This could be bigger than De La Hoya vs. Mayweather.

C'mon Holyfield win the title for Jones!!!

        I understand your point
But, Roy has been taking more punishment than ever
Moving up to 200lbs could seriously injure him.

He probably wouldn't take much of a beating from Holyfield.

As much as us Roy fans want him to retire. From what I've been hearing, we have not seen the last of Roy Jones Jr.

John Doe vs. Roy Jones Jr. at an arena in Pensacola. Roy would put on an old RJJ show, and we'd all be happy one last time. sounds good to me.

JT is dangerous with his speed and punching power. Plus hes alot younger. I think Roy is going to fight Tarver again, thats my prediction. Look for Jones-Tarver IV by the spring/summer 09.
