Really, that's how he dominated Lacy, got Kessler to panic, because he was making Kessler back up... Hopkins did real well because he is a terrific mover/counterpuncher, but... he came straight ahead the whole time against Jones too... or do you think Jones's back ended up on the ropes by accident?

Calzaghe definitely does not fight best off of his back foot, he is best coming forward.

If his opponent doesn't come forward, then he's nowhere near as effective. Kessler and Jones came forward, and Calzaghe was much more effective. Where on earth did I say that Calzaghe would solely fight on the back foot?

Johnson is another who is nearly 40. So he'll be the next great hope to beat Calzaghe, until he loses. After that he'll become another of the old men Joe is padding his record with and another great hope will emerge.

On a side note, "Gentleman Glen"? Granted he's been robbed a few times, but I have never ever seen him take defeat gracefully. It's always "they're persecuting me". What I wouldn't give to hear him say just once: "you know what, I deserved to lose that one."
