All LeBrone would have to do is pin Kellie in a corner and wail on him. Getting hit by a man that large and strong will take anyone out, including the vastly overrated and pasty Pavlic.

Hopkins wailed on him for 12 rounds and Pavlik never got hurt. All he was really able to do was outpoint him. If an A game Hopkins on the offensive can't even rock Pavlik, the its doubtful a non professional could. Even if he is a big guy like LeBrone.

Just consider this in extreme terms, for example:

what if a flyweight champion boxer fought an extremely athletic 250 pound athlete from a different sport? I wouldn't pick the flyweight simply because I think his level of skill does not override the size and strength advantage of the other athlete. I think most people are underestimating a person's fighting ability simply because they haven't had formal boxing training. Of course this is a huge factor, but do you really think a trained athlete would completely get dominated by someone 100 pounds lighter than him?

Boxing is a disciplined sport, but don't get it mistaken with something that is purely cerebral akin to chess. There is no chance in hell that your average chess enthusiast would ever beat a professional champion at chess. He wouldn't win 1 out of a 100 games.
        Yes, and here is why.

#1. It takes years of training to master throwing punches without telegraphing them.

#2. The bigger man will always be slower. You could give Lebron 1000 rounds against Calderon, I guarantee he wont land a single punch. They will be telegraphed, have to cover an enormous distance, and Calderon would see them from a mile away.

#3. Boxing is a cerebral sport, its not just throwing punches. Getting your punches in past someones defense is not easy. Feinting takes lots of practice to get right.

Did you idiots not hear what I said? A 170lbs Tarver destroyed 7 foot 2 320lbs Shaq on ESPN in a mock boxing match with over sized gloves.

In a boxing ring with rules Pavlik will brutally KO Lebron in about 25 seconds of the first round.

In a street fight Lebron has much more of a chance if he swarms Pavlik and suffocates his punches and takes him down to the ground etc.

Miami Heat center Shaquille O'Neal, who is spending much of his summer in Central Florida, will put on the boxing gloves and climb into the ring against Antonio Tarver, the light heavyweight world champion, at Universal Studios on Aug. 6.

It's the main event in a charity fund-raiser titled: Shaq's Mama Said Knock You Out. It benefits the Odessa Chambliss Quality of Life Fund, which provides a scholarship fund for individuals seeking careers in nursing.

                  BY TIM POVTAK

                  The Orlando Sentinel

(KRT) - Those boxing lessons Shaquille O'Neal has been taking paid off this weekend.

His 140-pound weight advantage didn't hurt, either.

Although it was little more than a friendly dance for charity when O'Neal climbed into the ring with world light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver, neither athlete could totally drop his naturally competitive instincts.

Even with those oversized pillow-soft gloves, Tarver must have wondered what hit him when O'Neal landed a right uppercut. It hurt.

"He's a big, powerful guy," understated Tarver, who was dwarfed by the not-so-gentle giant.

They were the main attraction at the Odessa Chambliss Quality of Life Fund benefit at Universal Studios, which was a rousing success primarily because of O'Neal's stature still as the biggest attraction in sports.

It's why people such as Tarver, Charles Barkley, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Grant Hill, Rod Strickland, Dennis Scott, former football stars Doug Williams and Reggie White, local politicians like Richard Crotty, television celebrities like Omorosa and big-money season-ticket holders like David Siegel all were happy to lend an assist.

"People just like being around Shaq," said McGrady. "He's a magnet."

They raised more than $200,000 at the fund-raiser that included both a live and silent auction. As a favor, McGrady bid $30,000 for the use of a private yacht for a week.

Much like he did Saturday when he turned up in Lake County to provide an assist to a friend running for sheriff, O'Neal attracted an overflow crowd of more than 450 (at $125 a ticket) to the benefit Friday.

His mother organized the event in memory of his grandmother, who wanted to provide educational help for future nursing students. But it was O'Neal's presence that made it a success.

It's just one more example of why Orlando Magic fans still wince when they think about what might have happened here if O'Neal had not left as a free agent for the Los Angeles Lakers in 1996. Or if he had been traded back to the Magic - and not the Miami Heat - earlier this summer.

they keep mentioning something about shaq "rocking Tarver" with a right upper cut but it's probably the only punch he landed. I seen a clip of it long ago and from what it looked like it was Tarver that was rocking Shaq up against the ropes.

                      Keep in mind

                      Tarver 6'0 175 lbs

                      Shaq 7'2 360lbs

                      Pavlik would brutally annihilate Lebron
