I'm not implying that boxing ISN'T a skilled discipline. The fact is that boxers are still people. You talking them up as if just by definition of being a "boxer", you're some sort of untouchable human that can't be ****ed with by mere civilians. Why do you think Mike Tyson got ****d in jail then? (and yes he admitted this) Cos the dudes that ****d him definitely weren't pro boxers. For the record, boxing isn't just ALL based on athleticism either, there's so much overall hand eye coordination involved, not to mention stamina. Anyway thats not the point, the point is if you can't see the difference a huuge amount of size + athleticism makes, then you're just blind.

okay jackass if athleticism is the be all and end all why didnt taylor beat pavlik
???
taylor was much more ripped, way more athletic naturally and in his style, but pavlik beat him twice....
im not saying athleticism isnt relevant but skill means a hell of a lot more
honestly, i doubt you have ever set foot in a gym, you probably never will, and know nothing about boxing, or anything for that matter, except maybe a bit about asking idiotic questions
aren't you the same guy who picked roy jones over calzaghe? I think I know quite a bit more about boxing than you chump. Being labeled as a boxer and having a boxing license does not give you special powers. Boxers are still human, they're not the superheroes you've built up to be in your mind.Comment

ill admit i was clouded in that prediction, i picked with my heart and not my head, i hate calzaghe...i admit it and that influenced my predcition, i predicted what i want to see happen
now honestly, have you ever boxed? answer the questionComment

no I haven't boxed, but I don't see how that discredits my ability to analyze the sport.Comment
-
well then you're more of an idiot than i thought you were if you think you can analyse something you have never experienced
stick to ****in basketball man, seriously im done arguing with you, you're a complete idiot and an overall waste of timeComment

Funny, cos seeing as how you picked Pacquiao to beat DLH also, I'd say you're the idiot. You're gonna be 0-2 within the next month while I'll be 2-0 in predictions. You tell me who knows more about boxing then.Comment

ok so calderon is a bad example. What if it were a brawler in the lower weights with little defense. Say someone like a Katsidis? Obviously Katsidis would still attempt to box defensively and not wanna get caught with a bomb, but would he survive 12 rounds doing it?Comment

those 'no skilled brawlers' that we see at the top level are actually very skilled, its just that theyre often in there with a guy thats way more skilled than them. but compared to your everyday person, theyre defensive wizards.ok so calderon is a bad example. I dunno if youve seen that video of a shot Gatti kickin the **** out of the 200 lb man on pros vs joes, but you should try to find it. and the funny part was that the actual 'challenge' was to land 10 punches against Gatti. yea, who would have thought that would be a challenge having watched him in boxing? but it actually took the guys quite a while, and that other guy actually got knocked out badly trying to only just land 10 punches against him...
no, Lebron James aint your average 200+lb guy. but Kelly Pavlik is no shot, overweight Arturo Gatti either.
(Gatti vs. Heavyweight video)
some people really underestimate how much skill there is in boxing.Comment
