    prime skill =/= overall greatness

      I already covered this groupie.

      But I ask you again, who would you rather be if you were to fight for 15-20 years? A fighter with extraordinary abilities but only for a decade or a fighter who is consistant but lasted longer in the sport due to his ring smarts, defense and longevity.

      And who said you're only a athete until 32. This isn't the 50's anymore. Today's athletes can last much longer then that.

        B-Hop's mind is more than a match for Jones's athleticism

          I am judging Roy by his Prime. I am a bigger Roy fan than Hopkins, but Hopkins has always seemed more complete and fundamental boxing wise than Jones. As I said, talent wise Roy takes it. But with all Hopkins has shown in his own respective prime against the more quality opponents , I have to go with him overall as a fighter.

            Did you just compare Roy Jones Jr. to Roy Jones Jr?

            RJJ = Jones

              Hopkins is actually my second favorite fighter of all time. so its not an anti hopkins thing.

              I didn't say your only an athlete until 32. But I don't think past the age of 32, that you are truly in your physical prime. Thats just my opinion.

              I'd rather be a fighter who lasted longer obviously. But 13 years is nothing to sneeze at. Think of it this way, had Roy called it quits at the end of 03, he would have never lost. Roy's case is the same mistake Ali made. Some fighters fight on way too long.

                What does that mean prime for prime????

                There could be a fighter out there who was UNBEATABLE but his prime only lasted for 5 years. Would you wanna be that guy???

                Prime for prime aint **** if it faded away quick. Would you be a superhuman but for only 5 years and then start getting sick and feeling old or would you rather be a normal but healthy human being overall maintaining your health for 50-60 years.

                The answer is obvous.

                  Fundamentals isn't everything. Look what Roy did to James Toney. And remember Roy is known in boxing circles as one of the smartest fighters in the ring of all time. Roy might be unorthodox, but he still was a skilled counter puncher.
