Cotto gave all he could, could fought till he couldn't anymore, cotto kept throwing trying to win the fight, all things that jones can't say.

On the one hand, I can see your argument. Cotto did everything in his power to win the fight with Margarito, he was throwing bombs in there and a normal man would've been out by the 8th. whereas Roy seemed content to just hide in the corner with his earmuffs on from about the 5th onward.
But Cotto took a voluntary knee, and kneeled before Margarito, in his prime.

A prime Roy Jones would've never done that.

that is exactly what im talking about. Who cares about the knee because before that he gave EVERYTHING HE COULD before running out of gas and realizing he's had enough. Roy jones didn't do half of that! Roy jones was my favorite fighter, but i couldn't stand how he fought in the 3rd tarver fight scared and he did it again. I truely feel he never had confidence and it was evident in his talk and just picked up a paycheck.

Yea, and it's a shame. I think both fighters showed heart, Cotto for the reasons Rogelio already said, and Jones for the fact that he just couldn't figure Calzaghe out, was bleeding profusely, and lasted, after taking a good amount of punishment.

Rog has a point, but this is just going to bring the Cotto haters out which sucks. I think both fighters have more than enough heart, they were just very different fights, lost accordingly to the nature of the fights.

Cotto went in against margarito and gave it all he could. Even when he knew he couldn't hurt him he kept firing away, that's more than what Roy Jones jr can say. Fighting with ZERO confidence, talking with ZERO confidence, and going into a fight only for a paycheck. I was embarrassed to see roy fight like this, it was like watching the 3rd tarver fight all over again!!! I can respect someone giving his all gettting knocked out, or quiting after he's had enough in a war. It's a shame when your opponent is slapping at you, palms sideways, and putting no weight into ANY PUNCHES and yet you still stand there with your hands up scared to get hit while your opponent is stickings his tongue out, shaking his hips, with hands so low he can almost tie his shoes all you do is stand there not throwing cause you're scared to get hit. What a shame! Thanks for the memories Roy once again, but i've spent my last $50 on a rjj ppv.

no eye excuses...after round 2 calzaghe was just slapping away at yones while he blocked and did nothing...round 3 was humiliation he was showboating in front of yones with his hands down and yones was scared to throw....safe to say tarver snatched yones heart like shang tsung

so someone throwing bombs with a much bigger guy, back and forth, taking numerous hard shots, but yet continuing to keep throwing in defense is a ***** because he didn't stand there with his forearms up in fear of getting hit. Are you really that ****** to not realise the ONLY reason jones went the 12 rounds is because he fought the way he faught and that was scared, protecting himself, scared to get hit and putting his hands up while his opponent is shaking his hips, hands on the hips, tongue out, smiling at you sometimes so close they can probably kiss yet jones doesn't even have enough guts to throw a punch to try to hit calzaghe cause he's so worried about putting his hands up so he doesn't get hit. He did that **** in the tito fight too, luckily for him tito was smaller and roy wasn't scared to get hit.

Exactly jones wasn't cut till later on. he was being embarrassed and showing fear protecting himself as much as possible way before the cut. Hey jones maybe if you weren't so scared of getting hit and focused more on landing some punches instead of avoiding them, you might have won.
