    I'm proud of Roy...(final jones/calzaghe thoughts)

I'm rewatching the fight again online right now.

Roy just didn't have the stamina, speed and reflexes that he use to. But he kept fighting, even though he was bloodied, battered and Calzaghe was taunting him. Roy is definitley a fighter, and hes a proud man. Roy was trying to do his thing out there, but Joe is just the better fighter at this stage.

Too bad Roy didn't retire after Tito. I think Roy, me and alot of his fans got too ambitious about his comeback.

Whats done is done. Atleast Roy didn't quit and went out fighting one of the best of this generation.

yeah, i also over estimated what he had left in the tank...

i watched the fight again, and im also proud of him... he was losing, he knew he was losing, but he fought as much as his body would allow him.. and didnt seem to give up

Im greatful that he lost to Joe Calzaghe and not to the likes of Prince Badi or Anthony Hanshaw... he lost to one of the best fighters fighting today... 2 months shy of 40... and im ok with that...

Roy was an amazing fighter and the only reason he didnt win was because he barely threw any punches.....but hats off to roy!

very true...and also Calzaghe made maybe his best performance that night, his flurries were very quick and powerful and i have to admit his motion was very sincopated, and he just knew when to go out not to be countered. His technique of flurring is underrated too..he just doesnt uses only his arms, with his body motion and his relaxation hes able to inject some springy power to his fists.

Its not even that Roy completley ******. Like I said to someone else, he probably would have beat a fringe contender with what he had on Saturday. But he can no longer fight the top dogs. Calzaghe is too active and fast. Roy's reflexes have slowed more than I knew. And he can't punch with Calz for 12 rounds, because he doesn't have that kind of stamina. Calzaghe's stamina is crazy. I should have known this would have been a problem after the Hanshaw fight. Roy was very tired against Hanshaw, but he pulled it out. Calzaghe is big step up from Hanshaw.
