Would you rather have the .......

gifts and skill of a prime roy, but start to noticeably fade in your mid 30's? or the skill, and mind of bernard, and be able to still be great well into your 40's?

I'd go with Roy but retire after beating John Ruiz.

Definately roy,Roy was GREAT,do not doubt that or argue, because he was the best of his time,IMO.
His class and agility, and power behind those punches are very notable!!!He knows how to throw a punch, you dont have to be a big beast with oversized muscles to hit hard like RJJ.

I would go for the Hopkins scenario. mostly because he seems much more healthy at this stage than Roy, especially considering his age. so he would be in better shape for his life after boxing, which would be a very important thing to me.

plus, Hopkins even as an old man aint gettin dominated or beat up. gotta be pretty proud of that.

a part of me would want the Roy scenario, but honestly, youre never gonna be considered the best fighter of all time nowadays, no matter what you do. Ray Robinson is probebly going to always be considered the p4p best ever. but being the best ever old fighter? now thats something that people could really remember you by.

honestly i'd rather have jones' athletic ability and I'd have retired after the Ruiz fight.
