Mikkel Kessler: "I Want To Fight Bernard Hopkins"

Hopkins is in the twilight of his career, he has 1, maybe 2 fights left tops.
The only real opponets I see out there for him are Calzaghe in a rematch, or to take Dawson's crown at 175lbs.
A fight with Kessler would be fun to watch, as Kessler isn't a walk in the park. But he's too stationary to give Hopkins a ton of difficulty. Hopkins wouldn't school him like he did Kelly, but I definitely see a 116-112 win as the likely outcome for Bernard.
But what does he get, legacy wise or credit wise by fighting Kessler?
If he wins, Kessler is overrated (which he already is by Joe fans), and Joe's leftovers. No credit given at all because Kessler hasn't done **** in his entire career except lose to Calzaghe.
If he loses, well then Bernard sucks and he couldn't even beat Joe's sloppy seconds.
It makes no sense, and Hopkins gets no credit either way.
Calzaghe, Dawson, or retirement.

kessler is good and would make a good account of himself against hopkins but hopkins would maul kessler. i don't think kessler is ready for the vast variety of experience that hopkins possesses. kessler needs to build up to a fighter like hopkins, he jumped the gun a tad with calzaghe, when calzaghes experience proved too much for kessler, hopkins would make it ugly against him, kessler should fight other world class fighters right now. who?, i'm not match making but i think that there would be some really good fights for kessler to build on..........

Everyone who thinks Kessler would be overwhelmed by Hopkins seems to be forgetting that this is the same Hopkins (3 years older, no less) that couldn't handle a young, raw Jermain Taylor.
Hopkins may have looked brilliant against Pavlik, but Kessler is a different fighter with more skills from which to draw. I'd put him more on par with Taylor, TBH, except more technical and probably with an edge in power. He's got a quick, strong jab, puts punches together, and counter punches well. Hopkins might frustrate him (he does everyone), but this would be far from a schooling. I'd pick Kessler by close UD or SD.
Could be a good showcase fight for Kessler, but a lose-lose for Hopkins (I agree with the assessment that even if he won, concensus would be that Kessler was overrated).

I don't see why Hopkins would take this fight. All he should really be pushing for is a rematch with Calzaghe and retirement. The only other fights that make sense at all would be a Roy Jones rematch (one of the last ways to make money for both of them), and if he got real desperate maybe he could try to avenge the Taylor defeats assuming Taylor beats Lacy. Hopkins is fighting for legacy and money. All those fights do more for his legacy in terms of accomplish the feat of beating everyone he has faced and will generate more money.
