hardmanbrit may have talked some rubbish on this subject, but I feel I have to back him up right now.

Errr..... we are also talking about 1980s Britain here as well!

Argentina is a vast land with massive amounts of natural resources and it is a nation that had a huge amount of French military technology at its disposal when it attacked British land in the eighties. Are you suggesting that Great Britain was so great militarily then that it was inconceivable that Argentina might beat us in the Falkland's War?

By the way, I know that hundreds of years ago we did some truly terrible things, but don't forget that we were also the first nation on Earth to abolish slavery. Our navy actually fought and killed many hundreds of slave traders around the nineteenth century!

Don't forget also that we delivered railway systems and education systems to places such as the Indian subcontinent and Africa, and how many tens thousands of vital things have we invented as a nation, from the telephone to the tank?

I know Britain has done some terrible things for this Earth, but show me a nation that hasn't and I will show you a liar.

She will eventually exert her influence once she fully becomes a World Power. We can probably deal that....you cannot...and that's why you make all these affliations...England-U.K-European Union...Nice blankets.

To compare the United States of America to the United Kingdom in that way is ludicrous.

Texas (which is in fact just one of your many states) is far larger than our entire country and your population stands at three hundred million for God's sake!

      You are being silly now.

I think we should end this petty political nonsense for the good of this great forum.

are you trying to say he tried at any point in the fight before that? even the KD was the result of a forearm on a counter punch. Roy was only there to survive and get paid. he has no heart and never did

I think that comment is a little harsh. He showed plenty of heart in the first Tarver fight. He had nothing left in the tank coming down the stretch and managed to rally and pull it out. That is showing heart IMO.

Against Calzaghe I will admit that he saw the writing was on the wall fairly early on and pretty much relinquished any thought of winning. He realised Calzaghe's chin was too good for Roy to be able to stop him and that he didn't have the necessary fuel in the tank to compete with Joe's workrate and therefore he had no real chance to win. He still showed heart though I think. It would have been pretty easy for him to ***** out of it if he wanted to, but he wanted to finish. You got something against Roy though, no doubt.

after almost knocking him out in the first round he realized that? yea he's probably got brain damage if he jumped to that conclusion.

I'm no Calzaghe fan, but to say that his chin is anything but granite is just ridiculous. Getting knocked down and momentarily stunned does not mean you don't have a great chin. He has taken some big shots in fights and just kept walking through them. His chin is his best asset IMO.

I don't think I've ever seen anything as sad in boxing as the Glengoffe KO.

The Tarver one was bad enough, but when he smacked his head on the canvas a 2nd time and wouldn't get up... Man, you just wanna hug the guy or something.

he hasn't been knocked out yet so he has a granite chin? or maybe its the fact hes facing old dudes who can only punch one punch at a time. if they werent old and let their hands go he would be out of there and these old guys arent even known for being power punchers to begin with. not to mention byron mitchell and kabary salem(you kidding me) had him on ***** street. SAD.
