What yall think of Chad Dawson???

I think dawson might have quicker hands but he definitely isn't as constant as Calzaghe. Calzaghe is still fast as hell, so if Dawson is quicker I wouldn't say by much. The betting odds would favor joe to win this fight too.

Give him 5 years and i'm sure he will be at the level that all the nuthuggers have him at already.

I agree, calzaghe doesnt stop. Hes like a machine once he gets going. Hopkins might have the best chance of beating him if he threw more punches. Id like to see pavlik vs calzaghe, even though it wont happen. I think itd be a very entertaining fight, both of them throw a lot of punches.

I don't understand how you can't be very impressed with Dawson's efforts against Tarver. His movement was fantastic and he threw fast and accurate combinations on a regular basis. His stamina held up very well and he looked to carry his power late also. I think Chad is definately the future at 175 no doubt. I would love to see him fight Joe, it would be a very competitive fight.

i agree with alot of what you said danc1984, alot his combinations were sharp and accurate, he seemed smart and his movement was good as well.

his stamina though is something that he needs to work on, he took rounds off vs tarver i think the eighth possibly? he would gift tarver a round by taking his foot off the gas and then he would go back to throwing punches and dominate the next few rounds.

imo he also lacks focus, his trainer eddie mustafa kept on saying to him dont lose concentration, imo that is not a good sign.

i think the fight with him and joe would be a good fight, but i think it would follow the same trend as the kess fight. joe intially struggles with the bigger and younger guy but after round 5 he takes the fight by the balls and dominates.

personally i think chad is a good fighter but not all that - yes he is big, athletic, quick and has decent enough power to shake a chinny fighter but hes one of those fighters that will get better with age because with his style he needs to develop his ring smarts, that can only happen by stepping in with good fighters.

i think alot of the aura around chad is hype, he fits into the category of possibly being another crossover boxing superstar (black american, young, fights in a good weight category, good trainer, tall and athletic etc). it does look like to me that he is partly the real deal but also partly a product of good media use and promotion.

i think fighters like hopkins and joe would beat him easily, hopkins would possibly get the KO or a KD. i even think kess would handle him within the distance.
