think of it this way. isnt it better that bernard beat chad (notice that i am not going to say "expose" with an elite, supremely talented fighter like dawson) than joe c does. not saying that dawson is a hype job, but bhop and calzaghe are the two best in the division right now. i think either can beat him, and i'd rather it be bhop.

if joe gets to him first, he can retire as an ATG and never has to see Hopkins again. Really, he doesn't even have to fight him if BHop beats dawson, but at least there will be some public demand. BHOP can get on his pedestal and say, "I am the best light heavy in the world. I was robbed against joe the first time. I have actual belts, not the ring trinket. fight me in wales and i will knock you out." not that i think it was a "robbery" myself (though I had Hopkins winning), but that kind of talk really throws down the gaunlet!

maybe not. his counter rights could trouble the young specimen of a southpaw though.

you guys know this is a multiple vote poll right?!?

If Hopkins beats Dawson and then fights Calzaghe and it was a close UD win by Joe again, then you cannot say that Joe isn't one of the best.

What's Hopkins record against southpaws again? 10-0?

I'm not counting Calzaghe because while technically Joe is a southpaw, he's ambidextrous which is why his style is so awkwardly effective.

exavtly and we all saw what johnson did to dawson with right hands. if chad thought that johnson counter in round 3 was bad, wait til he gets it from BHop, especially since hopkins is now seeking to be a "razzle dazzle guy, ad thrilla and a shocka" (as roy might have put it if he were talking about himself of course).

Hopkins is a boxer/counter-puncher, he's not a sluggler like Johnson, not to mention he's turning 44. Dawson will take advantage of his age, that I am sure of.

I'd rather see Dawson rematch Glen Johnson if he can't fight Calzaghe.

dawson is too young, too big, and just too damn good.the only thing hop has left is his veteran cageyness.on top of him saying he doesn't look too good vs southpaws.as much as i like pavlik, he doesn't have the dimensions in his game that dawson has.

No hopes of that happening. After beating Tarver, Dawson promptly returned to the rock he was hiding under.

I wonder what the percentage is of users picking Dawson to beat ole' 'Nard who picked Kelly to beat him last month? And Winky, Tarver, and Tito before that. Some people never learn.
