Does BHOP Have to Slay Dawson to Earn Rematch with Joe Calzaghe?!?

He did Joe's dirty work in silencing the critics about Joe ducking Pavlik. BHops dominating victroy made Joe look good, but also took out one of Joe's viable options for a post-jones fight.

Should Bhop Target Dawson to eliminate all other challengers from a Calzaghe mega-fight?!?

    Can BHop beat Dawson?

I say yes, and yes. I think BHop has the best chance at beating Joe anyway, although I may be wrong. Judging from the Tarver fight, Dawson does appear to be very capable against southpaws...

BHop doesn't need to fight Dawson. He Schooled Joe once, he deserves a rematch now!

The way he waxed a guy who Joe was scared to fight earned him his rematch.

I think you got it the wrong way round. Dawson needs to slay B Hop before he'll be seen as a legitimate challenger for Calzaghe.

I agree, but beating Dawson adds to BHOPs legacy and puts him as the clear and decisive last hurdle to Calzaghe being considered a dominant Light heavy AND Supermiddleweight champion....

If BHOP wants a rematch, isn't Dawson the key to ensure it will happen?!?

I think the Pavlik performance alone, coupled with the Split Decision and those who scored the fight for 'Nard is enough to warrant the rematch already.

But if he has to ice Dawson, I'm fine with it. Personally I think Bernard and Joe both would completely outclass Chad right now, he's nowhere near as good as people here are propping him up to be.

He got his ass whipped by Johnson, and he beat Tarver. Big deal. Hopkins and Joe own Dawson, it's just a matter of who gets to him first.

You guys hate Calzaghe way too much.

By beating Hopkins, Calzaghe became the man at 175, now if Hopkins wants a rematch he should fight Dawson to get Calzaghe. I would have liked to see Cal fight Dawson, but if we go by who beat who then Cal is the man at 175. People still expected him to lose. If Calzaghe fight Hopkins again, he's only going to put a beating on him next time around.

As I said, I'm fine with Bernard schooling Chad to get a second crack at Joe. Just don't come crying to me about how Chad was "never that good anyway" when Hopkins Tarver's that ass.

A Dawson and Hopkins fight is needed in general to convince Calzaghe to come out of retirement. The hype built following that fight would make it worth it for whoever one. The winner would be the undisputed top contender. Dawson could also fight Kessler, I would almost rather see that fight
