Glen Johnson was more impressive

I thought Glen Johnson was much more impressive against Jones than Calzaghe was last night. He put on much more pressure and landed more effective punches. Jones also looked at times like he still had some of his old hand speed against Johnson which is something he has not shown since and he was still able to throw combos. Johnson also seem to take his punches better and didn't need to constantly show boat to prove his superiority. And Johnson also had the ability to finish the younger Jones off. I think Calzaghe should get respect for his performance but it shows how good Johnson was back in 2004.

THat's like Larry Holmes trying to take credit for beating Ali or Marciano saying he beat a prime Joe Louis. It doesn't work that way.

Instead, people will remember how bad Jones has looked for a long time and Calzaghe, despite landing 300+ shots on Roy, couldn't knock him out like Johnson and Tarver did.

Glenn Johnson is as deserving of respect as anybody in this sport. The man has been ripped off more times than I can even count. Him and Emmanuel Augustas are cut from the same cloth. Skilled, tough, durable opponets who've fought the best of their era in their weight classes but somehow always end up being blatantly screwed over by judges.

Truth be told Johnson only deserves like 4 or 5 of the losses on his record tops. Most were hometown robberies and gift decisions, same with Emmanuel.

Johnson dominated and then knocked him out, Johnson landed much more accurate punches and hurts Jones several times. Johnson didnt need to showboat. As you haven't seen the Johnson fight you can find it in the video section on this site.
