    Cong****

Joe Calzaghe deserves every good/great thing that is said and going to be said about him as a fighter....He never got the credit he deserved, he came here to the USA and dominated two "legends", took on and destroyed what was supposed to be a good test in Jeff Lacy, fought the best 168lb out there in Kessler, and had a great performance there.....What sets Joe apart from all of these fighters and many fighters today is that he has a tremendous work rate that no one can handle, even if his punches are of the "pity-pat" (although Jones' face would agree with that) variety, the man is a non-stop aggressive in your face, dare to go toe to toe with me type fighter......At this point there really is no reason for him to continue to fight, he's not a lavish style guy so he really wont be greedy and continue fghting like his comtemporaries continue to do, he's accomplished and earned the respect of all who follow boxing.......and therefore he should go out on top, because that is EXACTLY where he is right now.......CONG**** JOE!!!

Great Fight, very entertaining by both fighters. I felt quite sorry for Jones, didnt want to see him hurt like he was. To me it seemed Calzaghe could have put him away late on via stoppage, but looked as though he didnt want to. I think it was out of respect for Jones he didnt jump on him and finish him off, he basically cruised the last couple of rounds, which I'm glad he did coz personally I didnt want to see Jones more hurt than he already was, and I think Joe thought the same, thats the impression I got anyway through his actions. Just my personal opinion

Some of the things I have read though is very laughable, whoever it was saying Calzaghe is ducking Abraham? Yeah ok.. keep trying to think of names

Calzage has been down in his last 2 fights.
I wish Calzage had the balls to fight Arthur Abraham.
        you should retire now!

Calzhage has proven himself a great fighter. I covered this fight live at press row, for a local publication in NY. Firstly, Calzhage deserves credit but I hesitate to heap anymore credit on this victory, than is merited.

I have followed the careers of both gentleman, live on many occasions. Having said that, the man Calzhage fought tonight was not "RJ", it was OJ (Old Jones). The knockdown in the first round had Calzhage hurt, if this was RJ from 5 years ago, Calzhage would have been down and out.Again I think Calzhage is a great fighter, however I wish he would take the chance and fight Chad Dawson. Having said that, it was a great night and damn those Welsh women!

I'll give Joe his props but only so much... its clear as day he beat a shot Roy Jones Jr.

i mean he pretty much showed every sign of a shot fighter.. stamina issues, couldnt get his combos off, just doing enough to survive at times, and the big one is a fighter getting who NEVER gets cut being cut... with that said i hope RJJ hangs em up before he gets hurt

As a Jones supporter its quite easy to say hang em up Roy. Ya made it back to the big stage but came up short against a good fighter in Joe. Hopefully Joe will retire and bask in the glory of his victory assuring his spot in history. As for Roy, his spot in history is guaranteed so no need to hang his head - just be smart about it.

I am also a Dawson supporter and dont want to see Joe fight him.....has the potential for Joe to start looking like Roy, Bernard and other older fighters holding on for that next glorified night, which may not ever happen.....

First off cong**** to the Slapper. But honestly, why don't you prove yourself against some good competition at the end? Not only you didn't really make weight but that was, sad to say, the expected mismatch we all saw coming (perhaps not Reed). Look at the case of other undefeated types who chose to retire undefeated: Mayweather went out beating a legit RULING champion who happened to be undefeated, by TKO. Can't say nothing about it can you? Joe chooses to go out against a couple 40 year olds, who still managed to knock him down in the process. PLEASE DONT REMATCH HOPKINS, he's OLD. That will work against you and your legacy earlier than you think, as it did with Marciano. Do you want to be a Marciano or a Rocky Balboa?

I can say plenty about the Mayweather vs Hatton fight. For starters, Floyd would have won no metter what. But Joe Cortez did him a lot favours that night (as he does most US big name fighters), like breaking them up in close. Notice he did the opposite in the Hopkins vs Calzaghe fight. As i said, it wouldnt have effected the result, but i doubt Floyd would have stopped Hatton
