        Calzaghe should retire now!
Before he faces someone who actually has a chance of beating him.

Calzage has been down in his last 2 fights.
I wish Calzage had the balls to fight Arthur Abraham.

my only excuse is calzaghe fought a was past his prime rjj, fight a real threat and then i'll consider him a great. i think he would give anyone trouble and would prob win but he doesnt have the balls to prove any of the naysayers right or wrong.

like kellerman says fight bad chad and then all of us will go away!

in terms of legacy this did nothing for joe.

RJJ is not the same anymore, age is messing with him now. This is the fight that he got exposed, not by KO but by relly poor performance , his reflexes are almost gone too. He should call it quits.

calz tried to fight b-hops before
b-hops demanded double the money after a deal was made. you tell me who avoided who. he still beat both of them. how many people said jones would win?
somehow jeff lacy did.... way to make an even bigger joke of yourself lacy, as if getting your ass kicked as bad as an ass can be kicked wasnt enough, joe made your predicting abilities look worse than he did in the ring

I realized this fight was over the moment Jones didn't jump on him after the knockdown in the first round. Jones is not Hopkins, no longer slick enough without his legs to win these fights on points. In contrast to the Hopkins fight I did not have any real objections to Calzaghe's performance; he threw a lot of his trademark arm punches/pitty pat but wasn't blatantly slapping so much and was actually landing a fair amount (unlike the ridiculous punch stats awarded against Hopkins). Fairly routine win for Calzaghe, he looked as good as against Kessler.

this was a flawless performance by calzaghe.but even before the fight i felt like roy would get beat but not to this degree,he was completely destroyed.HBO did a good job in hyping this fight because i dont think roy even deserved a shot at calzaghe, but his name is known all over and thats why joe took it.i mean jones is coming off wins vs badi-ajamu,anthony hanshaw and a overweight trinidad,he did not earn to get a fight this big.it reminded me of how jeff lacy got his whole career shut down by calzaghe.i doubt that joe will retire, this fight perfectly sets up a rematch with hopkins.both of them are coming off dominating surprising performances(the hopkins win was even a bigger shocker)the fans will buy that fight.the first time they fought was too close to call anyone a winner,i expect bhop to bring that up in his next interview.because now hopkins doesnt have to worry about jones anymore,if he beats calzaghe,it'll be like beating jones too.and just imagine how big that fight will be,hopkins already said he is willing to go to wales to get his redemption.two future hall of famers putting it down to prove whos the best of this era.CALZAGHE VS HOPKINS II

                    Abysmal Performance

Though I congratulate Joe on a great performance I have to say the beating up on a fighter who clearly didn't want to fight and had nothing left doesn't show me much. I like Joe ok but I wish he'd take on someone who might actually be a threat.

I blogged about this fight tonight:

                    (all comments welcome)

As a Jones fan I was extremely disappointed in his performance tonight.

I am a Roy Jones fan and after seeing this fight, it's really time to hang them up. The knockdown in the 1st was good but, I cannot understand for the life of me why he didn't keep his hands up. Even with the knockdown, Joe was hitting him and I noticed the eye swelling after about the 4th round. I'm not a fighter by any means but common sense tells me that if I keep getting hit when my hands are down, I'm going to put my hands up. I'm just really disappointed in how he fought tonight. Absolutely no adjustments and he ended up getting embarassed.
That being said, congratulations to Joe. He did what he had to do and the better fighter won.
