Roy has lost some of his speed and reflexes. Joe would have given him a good fight in Roy's prime, but would have needed to be more defensive-minded and keep his hands up. Joe has lost some of the power he showed against Mitchell, Eubank, etc., but his reflexes are still very good for a man almost age 37.
