I'd accept 16 weight classes if one organization was able to mandate top fighters fight top fighters. Right now with multiple organizations and their belts pulling athletes in competing directions as far as recognition is concerned, we have the Giants playing the Raiders almost every game. *Yawn*
Promoters not making fights because they have personal issues between themselves also does not help the sport.Comment

people jump up or down to avoid fighters and pick up easy belts.I'd accept 16 weight classes if one organization was able to mandate top fighters fight top fighters. it's one thing to go from 135 to 140 but 135 to 147 is a leap.
this stops most from jumping up and down.Comment

Of course Filipino sites will run the story, but who outside of the Philippines cares about the story? I'm Pinoy and I don't really care. This is about Sulaiman saying either give me $30,000 or give me the belt back.
You're playing into their hands. The people who have to make these decisions aren't nearly as gullible.Comment

let me ask you this manang.
if pacquiao losses a belt by stripping and he doesn't lose it by losing to another fighter...... how does it hurt pac's legacy?
**** the wbc. pac will pay fees for their trinkets. belts are always nice but pay for a fight that isn't for a belt?
the wbc is outta their ****ing mind. **** them.
let valero fight another jap **** star for that meaningless belt.
the belt is only as meaningful as the waist it's wrapped around.Comment

Good point. I'm wondering if having same day weigh-ins with severe penalties for infractions would help to keep athletes closer to their natural weights?Comment

My point is that this drama should be avoided as to not blemish the Pacman with any kind of scandal. If his handlers pay up the $30,000 and put this to rest, no further complications will surface. If for some reason there was an accounting problem, then that can be handled without publicity.Of course Filipino sites will run the story, but who outside of the Philippines cares about the story?
