Who is this guy VLADIMIR 413......I confess I've never heard of him. I'm assuming that since he's written thousands of posts in a very short time, that it's made him a little "punchie". Well, perhaps the 413 has a special significance, like the total of the 3 figures being his actual age.

In that case we'd have to say that he was pretty smart, since most kids of that age can barely scrawl a simple few lines.

Wellll...it wasn't actually undeserved. It was "payment" for services rendered in the matter of

      1) not strapping up his knee and fighting Rahman for , say 2 rounds before returing on his stool, because he couldn't stand....but taking his $8 mill purse plus huge PPV share.

      2) For immediately retiring, thus allowing the WBC to announce a Champion, (however undeserved)

      3) For having been such a dominant Champion, the best Heavyweight in the World, the #1 of ALL fighters, jo matter which Association they were ranked with, which enhanced the reputation of the WBC tremendously.

I'm sure I couold find more reasopns, none of them sinister.

The "proof of the pudding is in the eating" ...have you ever heard this old saying....and nothing was more true when he came back from a nearly 4 tyear absence to annihilate the fearsome "Nigerian Nightmare", who did NOT go out on his shield like a Champion, or like a prouid fighter who's denigrating comments and self praise had us all almost believing him...........

Although...certainly NOT ME. My letters on this site categorizing Peter's "MONSTER-LIKE reputation as having been made against half-alive cripples, must be well known by now.

Ray, you don't exactly have it right. The fight wasn't cancelled 4 times. The dates were "suggested" and there was nothing "cancelled" when Klitschko couldn't fight on those dates....except the expectations of the fans, whose hopes had been raised by specualtive articles. {well they have to write something-anything- to make a living]

        The first 3 "cancellations" were

        1) because he thought, when jogging he'd torn a thigh muscle.

        2) the tentative, suggested date, allowing enough time for a muscle to heal, found that the "muscle" hadn't healed.

        3) the third suggested date passed because he'd had a CT scan and they found that he had NOT injured a thigh muscle although the pain was there. It was a spinal bone pressing on the sciatic nerve going to the thigh, transferring the pain to the thigh. A normal bodily function, happening to many millions, including yours truly. He was therefore, operated on. Larry Merchant confirmed all this by interviewing the Surgeon, and giving us the "lowdown" in a TV talk, to dispel, he said all the rumours that Klitschko was deliberately postponing the fight.

        4) this date, was not only "postponed' but cancelled, because just 9 days before the fight, with Klitschko in top shape,(as usual) according to sparring partner DaVarryl Williamson, he entangled his leg with another sparring partner (a prelim fighter) and fell heavily, snapping the anterior cruciate ligament, the main connector between the upper and lower leg, behind the kneecap. It needed at least 6 months to heal, before ANY training, and some doctors said that an injury like that would make his ring return very unlikely.

To show the crap going around about this fight, all started by Don King, and kept going by ignorant, brainless BoxingScene readers, (amongst many others) a"prominent" story was, that Klitschko looked so bad that he'd been KD by his (almost amateur) sparring partner, therefore, being afraid of Rahman, he was trying to wriggle out of the fight...........I ASK you!!!

        So....there you have it.

Your vulgarity and idiocy ere known to me as soon as I saw your "letter". I used "413" because it fitted in far better with the point i wanted to make, which coyuld not have been done with a child aged 6.

Even your pumpkin-like head (shades of Hallows 'een) should have been able to absorb and assume this, but I didn't expect so. I figured others would, and tyherefore not comment, but NOT YOU, so ....I was expecting a garbage like response from YOU.

            And THAT'S what I got........Dumbell.

why are some of you idiots complaining as if Vitali is trying to get off the line and fight someone worse? He's trying to fight a better fight(s) and a more exciting fight AND he's trying to unify and yet you idiots want to see him fight some nobody tomato can like Gomez and push back unification further and further?

Who in the HELL would want to see Vitali Gomez instead of Vitali/Haye or Vitali/Valuev?

Oh and...who the hell IS Gomez? No one has ever even heard of this bum..let him go fight other bums first and let Vitali the KING of the heavyweights fight someone worthy to even step in the ring with him, not a fat bum like Gomez who wouldn't last 2 rounds with Vitali and would just increase his KO percentage even closer to 99%.

former WBC cruiserweight champ who's got one lost when he was coked out and hasn't ever been down from what I can tell. He does hav a no contest due to testin positive for coke buh dude was fightin Oliver McCall! They both probably pre-gamed that **** with some good bogota stuff ya kno? Anyway dude has definitely earned his title shot, hopefully he ain't no Jorge-Luis Gonzalez. Should be a good fight and Gomez won't come in like Peter and the Panther might surprise us all and really test Kliterus.

he "earned" it? Sorry how did you mean, you mean by beating Virchis a 40 year old bum that retired right after that fight who's best win throughout his entire career was over "Taras *****ko" the guy who got destroyed by Valuev? Or was it the win over 79 year old crackhead Oliver Mccall that "earned" him the right to face the #1 heavyweight of all time?

McCall, despite his age, is in better physical condition than almost all of the other heavyweights. He's still one of the most dangerous fighters out there as well. Beating McCall and Virchis comfortably, as well as having an extensive resume with just one blotch on it, is more than enough to earn the right to fight for a title. Saying Gomez is a ''tomato can'' or whatever just shows a lot of ignorance. There's no other heavyweight with the natural talent Gomez has.

It probably won't make for an exciting fight, I'll admit that. But if someone earns the right then they deserve it regardless. Gomez would have beaten Peter as easily as Klitschko did, by the way, albeit probably to a decision.
