I don't think Calzaghe is fighting the same version of Roy that Hopkins fought. But I'm not sure Calzaghe has faster handspeed than Roy, even now, especially when throwing something meaningful. Joe has the edge in footspeed, footwork and reflexes. But I'd like to see Roy go out on top and retire. Unless he's going to face Hopkins afterward, I can't see any way he beats Bernard these days.

I got alot of what he said until he said "It's going to be a long fight. It will be mainly about conditioning. Who can throw, who can hurt, and who can do it for 12 rounds?" Yet still picks Roy. Roy loses him legs late and I have yet to hear anyone else I respect say that Roy has near Joe's conditioning. Roy couldnt move very well against an old, retired, coming off a couple loses, moving up in weight Tito late in the fight.

Pretty good analysis by Hopkins in my opinion, he knows alot about both fighters and definitly describes the most likely way Roy would beat Joe.

Keep in mind that when making this prediction Bernard is thinking about the Roy he faced in 93.
Hopefully Roy can pull out all the stops for one last time against Joe.

like i said i agree with Hopkins.... plus when the fight was 1st announced I said a lot of the same things he did...... i mean, look what Hopkins was able to do against Calzaghe, now imagine more power, more speed, more agility and you have a big big problem for Joe come fight night
