Aiight Lamon Brewster approached him and they didn't want it back in 07 while Klit was fightin Austin, Chris Arreola and Goosen approached him after Arreola KO'd Cliff Couser. It was set in September of this year and it didn't happen, now you have Shane Cameron and him not being able to get a fight when they live a few hours away from each other. Goddamn lost all respect for Tua's management.

David Tua vs. Shane Cameron Falls Apart, Talks are Off

I bet the offer for the fight was crappy.
Despite his inactivity, it's gotta be hard to go from 500k paychecks to 90k.
That's like you or me making 60k or something a year, then having to accept a job for 30 k a year. That's really hard on someone's pride.
That's my hunch on this one. I've noticed in the last couple of Tua fights that fell through, they have declined to mention what the offers were, just say that he refused them.

Has anyone noticed what a ridiculous and flawed statement is coming from Shane Cameron??
Well.....He says, he was looking for the fight for 2 years, and Suddenly he gets the call from Tua's camp....What's sudden about it?? Every fight is initiated by either a contact in person, or, prior to this a phone call.
Then he complains that HE wants the fight on March 7th which is 4 months away, (probably to cash in on Tua being not yet in shape) whilst Tua wants it in June....
So....what the hell, what's sudden about that......???? And anyway, Cameron can fight someone else on March 7th and still fight Tua in June, probably 3-3.5 monhs later, juast a nice break in betweeen fights.
Cameron's whole statement- if as written- is.....Phooey..

It's better to work for 30K than not work for 60K,that is, unless you have large reserves and are, with good reason, expecting something better to come along soon. And it's better to fight for 90K than not fight for 200K....that is, if you are depending on fighting for a living, and there's nothing better in sight, and if, as it probably is, much better than anything else you've been offered until now. We've barely heard of Shane Cameron, and New Zealand is a tiny country with a population of aboput 3-4 mill.

At the same time, you well know that Tua has been having huge managerial problems which dragged through the courts for years and years, and not only must he be well in his mid 30's but well out of shape. So why the hell should you expect him to suddenly look to fight a guy heavier and bigger in every way, who's vfit and has been fighting regularly. That is very unsportmanlike and unfair. Tua really has to start his career over again, nearly 20 years after he bagan it.

That's a fine sentiment and I don't disagree but if you have 20k in the bank, do you work at McDonalds or not work and hold out.
It's an awesome idea in theory. It's just that it's not a realistic sentiment for someone who's been near the top.
Funny how the offer wasn't even mentioned. (aside)

I want to see David Tua vs Audley Harrison.
Devastating, aggressive, 6'6 southpaw would lay Tua out.
