Calling Spadafora and Johnston great fighters is rather dubious. Briscoe got a big fight against Monzon in Argentina.

He fought great fighters and was a great fighter himself but none of his feats were acknowledged at the time. Only one of his many fights was filmed and he was never given a title shot (which I'm sure you already know).

A WW title fight against Robinson would've been a super fight.

Unfortunately Holman Williams was another underrated fighter of the era while Moore and Charles were both young and unknown at the time they fought Burley.

Not big fights when they happened but on hindsight, yes.

They are not. Maybe you use the term 'great' differently than most people do.

What bigger fight was there for Briscoe except a title shot against Monzon?

I would consider McCallum vs Curry and Toney super fights.

You have no idea what great means. Tell me what fight made Spadafora great? His gift draw against Dorin? He never fought anyone who will get one vote for the HOF. Johnston (not Johnson) was a very good lightweight, but nobody in boxing thinks he was great. Monzon-Briscoe was a huge fight. You just don't realize it because it was before you were born and in a foreign country.
