Would Taylor have done as well against the BHOP...

that dismantled Kelly as he did against him to take his titles? Keeping everything the same as it was against pavlik, ie. age, and weight(170) how would jt have done in place of kelly that night? what do you think fellas?

1st off he lost 2 Hopkins in da 1st fight & the 2nd i"ll give it a draw. if j.t. fought that night instead of Pavlik it would of been the same outcome. B-Hop schoolin da kid @ 170...

      STYLES MAKE FIGHTS

It wasnt a "different BHop". He was just fighting a guy with a basic style which played to all his strenghts.

I thought Taylor lost both fights but his style gives BHop more problems than Pavliks ever will. Only thing that mightve affected Taylor was the weight.

I don't think the 170lb limit hurts Taylor near as much as it did Pavlik... Taylor has fought north of 164 several times, and his skills/speed/power seem to carry up well.

Also, like Dirk said, styles make fights. Taylor is always going to cause problems for Hopkins with his speed, sharp reflexes, and quick feet. Pavlik was an easy target because when he started getting hit, he would try to cover up, but he never got out of the way. NEVER. He just stood there and took the shots that came around his guard.

If these two fought now, at 170, we'd see another razor-thin decision. You could argue that if Hopkins was more aggressive the odds would be in his favor, but it also opens him up to more counter-punching from Taylor. Yes BHOP's defense is great, but there were many times against Pavlik that he was wide open and Pavlik simply didn't have the speed/reflexes to capitalize... which is why Bernard fought with such confidence.

I think one advantage Taylor would have had that Kelly didnt have would have been good advice in his corner and an appropriate game plan, thing is what hurts Taylor is NOT listening to his corner. Who knows how it plays out but Hopkins did seem extremely motivated for that fight.

It wouldn't of been the same fighting another black guy.
