Isnt that what Hopkins did AT MW and he is considered great? Joe actually cleaned out 168 then moved up and won the LHW championship. I think US fans like myself are too hard on Joe. The guy is UNDERRATED.

There is nothing wrong with staying at 1 weight IMO. You could argue that the bigger names where at LHW though.

I think it is impressive, Joe was the man at that weight and everybody knew it, for 10 years. They briefly forgot and thought Lacy might be the best but after about 18 seconds of that fight they found out that wasn't true. Then there was Kessler a double world champion and people thought he might be the best but he wasn't the best either. Joe was.

He stayed there and proved he was the best 168 pounder beyond dispute for 10 years...and he slaps like a girl and is a euro f.ag.

2 main reasons - one joe was finding it hard to boil down to the limit, as you get older you naturally get bigger, watch pictures or videos of joe when he was younger and he seems to have a higher percentage of body fat than he did in the fights with kess, lacy and bika.

the other reason is that SMW didn't motivate him anymore he had unified the divsion, took on the best the division had to offer (reid, brewer, mitchell, lacy, sheika, kess), beat the best and held every belt available at one point or another. bernard, tarver, RJJ all te big fights that he wanted were at the LHW scene.
