Let's assume all of Calz injuries at questionable points b4 fight dates were legit...

Does anybody want to tell me why Joe didn't throw his hat back in the ring against Johnson after he knocked out Roy Jones then? He had ample time to jump in the Tarver/Johnson round robin. Glen was red hot and at least good for a one time big pay day. Anybody want to take a crack at conjuring up an explanation for this? If you're going to claim to be the best, you have to make fights happen. No excuses. I'd have respected the Cazaghe camp more if the reason they initially didn't want Johnson was for money reasons like stated in that article instead of claiming injury twice and Glen is paid 100 grand by Warren for his trouble.

Well I dunno. One still likes to think an apology for the attitude, criticism on that specific thing, and a thank-you is in order for the link, if nothing else outta common decency.

      Time yet.

And I'm sorry Joe pulled out twice with reasons as legit as when Hopkins pulled out once against him.

Calzaghe was set to fight Lacy, and decided to take a fight 2 months beforehand. During that fight he injured his left hand early on, and had to fight using his right jab for the rest of the night.

I think it was a legit injury, based upon how he fought the second half of the fight. Having said that, the fight in question was against someone who had been KO'D in 2 rounds not long beforehand, so God knows why he felt the need to take it. An injury prone guy taking a warm-up fight 2 months before the biggest night of his life?

I don't know if the injuries before the Johnson fight were legit. Why arrange a fight that you don't need to take, and then fake injury? But on the other hand, getting injured twice before taking on the toughest opponent of your career...

Hopkins signed a deal to fight Calzaghe. He turned around the next day and asked for double the money all of a sudden, he did not injure himself.

Calzaghe did not back out of a contract for monetary reasons or ask for double the money all of a sudden. He injured himself at least once, it's overly cynical to believe he was lying when he is prone to hand injuries and to this day says he regrets not being able to fight Johnson.

Those reasons are not the same and it's ridiculous to suggest so. Especially when presented with one link showing he did infact talk of fighting Johnson after the first injury which you claimed he didn't. Why mouth off with no intention to fight? Why say on his website and elsewhere he regrets the fight didn't come off?

I don't mind a healthy exchange it's all cool. But it does it understandably comes across bad when one rudely asks for proof your wrong, when someone politely does just that you don't really acknowledge it let alone say oh ok, cheers or something. It's just further un-necessary attitude, cynicism and an unwillingness to accept you might be a bit wrong on something. Hopkins did not have as good a reason to back out of a fight as Calzaghe, and I don't moan about it all day or claim such things with such a tone.

Because Calzaghe has a secret phobia of Jamaicans.
