The problem was Glen johnson didnt "Trust" Joe Calzaghe/Warren anymore so he didnt seem keen to be played about as he put it himself for the 3rd time, And i dont blame johnson because he had to train twice for the fight to be called off.
Anybody Know Why Calzaghe Ducked Glen Johnson In 04?

In a way I don't. It was partially understandable especially for Johnson whom is no spring chicken. Unfortunate all round.Last edited by Kris Silver; 11-03-2008, 03:53 PM.Comment

What do you mean "in a way"? Are you really implying that this is in any way something you can blame Johnson for?Comment

You've used that "joke" about 6 times now towards me. Goodness knows how often you've tried it with others to the same muted reaction.
No I asked why would he? He had no reason to fight Calzaghe when bigger fights were on the table.
Because Calzaghe is a far superior fighter to Lacy. People who knew boxing wouldve known this, you'd think.Comment

[sarcasm Let's not mention Johnson anymore though. We have to walk on egg shells in this forum when anyone dares question the GREAT Joe Calzaghe despite Hopkins getting bashed on his greatness to this day despite a richer resume.

Joe was relatively unknown. Boxing fans should have known who he was. But casuals or "Dumb Yanks" (your words) didnt know him. How thats a contradiction, I'll never know.

Is the guy who laughs at himself and "LOL"s all the time talking about "muted reactions". It's not a joke- you truly are that phony and transparent.
Lacy was a bum, but again you said that Joe was unknown. So how could anyone know that Calzaghe was "far superior".
Dumb yanks was your phrase, but of course you'll deny it now.
Keep making excuses for your lover. It's hilarious.Comment

You may not be able to give an inch of lee way or credibility on Calzaghe due to your persistent hatred, but I have no problem with Johnson. Calzaghe wanted the fight but had injuries, regrets it. Johnson said he lost faith and couldn't wait. It's unfortunate all round, that's it.
I don't blame anyone as easy as you may find it on thin info, and just cynicism. IF Joe wasn't injured, or IF Johnson woulda accepted the fight a month later is just that, if's. It's another fight that didn't come off, like many haven't even this year even. Oh well. Get over it.Comment

Yeah i think this was just one of those unfortunate situation where you cant really fault anyone of those guys, I dont expect a guy to fight with injury and i dont expect the other guy to wait around twice when he doesnt really know where he stands.
He just meant he cant fault johnson..Comment
