Yeah, I flip-flopped.
I didn't even want Calzaghe to even fight Roy in the first place, but now, I think Roy is gonna do a number on him.
Why? Because I just re-watched the Prince Badi, Hanshaw and Tito fights, and saw enough to let me think that even a past prime Jones has enough for this current version of Calzaghe. I know those fighters weren't great, but I think Roy has refined his style enough in those fights, while still possessing enough of his ability and handspeed, to beat Calzaghe.
There is probably some blind optimism that's guiding me too, but...**** it.
War Roy.

What is "this version of Calzaghe"? You mean the Calzaghe that fought Hopkins? I wouldn't expect Joe to fight like that ever again, it was a one-off. Hopkins makes pretty much everyone look bad because of the way he fights. Calzaghe looked just fine against Kessler and it wasn't that long ago.

Lol, what? How's that, then? Btw, the Slappy fanboy groupies will always be around and will continue to haunt us long after he's retired. Nothing to do with me.
Look, I know this is a diminished version of RJJ, but the point is-- I just don't rate Calzaghe. And even a diminished Roy will be able to hold his own, IMHO.
If he gets dominated for 12 rounds, then it doesn't mean that I will have to give Calzaghe huge credit, because I predicited RJJ to win. It will mean I was utterly wrong about RJJ's current state.Comment

I think he's lost a step. I know stylistically Hopkins can negate anyone, but Calzaghe was really, really poor. And only won because Hopkins legs went. What is "this version of Calzaghe"? I thought Winky and Taylor (second fight) looked better against Hops than Calzaghe did.Comment

I've sat on the fence but I'm a Calzaghe nuthugger
I have to back Calzaghe to win on points, RJJ looks somewhat haggered to me. But he still has the handspeed and natural innate talent to piss on Joe's bonfire. I am nervous.
Calzaghe to takeover from round 6 on. Hopefully.Comment
