The very pernickety can pick holes in everyone's record; Robinson not meeting Burley, Ali not rematching Foreman etc. But when all's said and done, both of those can be forgiven when you consider their accomplishments and the number of dangerous challenges and top-tier opponents they did face.

As you say, Floyd is a stellar talent, but you need more than talent to be a great. His resume just has too many question marks. Failed to clean out and unify a single division, and has held nothing but a WBC belt throughout his career in a 4 title era. Skirted around all the most dangerous challenges above 135, turned down Judah when he was undisputed, turned down a career high payday to fight Margarito, and not faced a single current top 8 welter.

I agree, Floyd will not be held in that ATG status. But the olympic medal thing isn't neccasary Robinson, Jones (he tried and was robbed) didn't achieve it.

He just didn't fight the best when he got to 140, 147. He argueably avoided Casamayor but he did fight Corrales, Castillo, Manfredy and Chavez at 130-135. He argueably avoided Cotto at 140-147, Hatton at 140 (he fought him at 147), Shane at 147 as well as Cotto, Margarito.

I would pick him to beat almost all of them (not sure about a prime Shane) but he didn't face them.
