Not nearly as bad a stoppage as the Dirrell fight because Mthalane was starting to slow and Donaire was surging but it was an overall flat performance by Donaire.
It might have had something to do with Donaire's 10 month layoff, maybe he was looking past Mthalane to Arce, who knows. Anyways, the cut was pretty bad and eventually would have needed to be stopped. I guess the ref thought Mthalane wasn't going to pull it out so why risk it.Comment

Donaire so fast the camera didn't catch him going to the backstage, grabbing some scissors (not before he took off his own gloves) went back to his opponent, lifted his eye lid, made a slit, went backstage again, put his gloves back on, and came back to the ring in south paw position. Can't believe you didn't catch that!Comment

Lol, I guess they don't call him "The Flash" for nothing. Nice avatar btw, I love HnI. Anyway, Nonito showed he was the better fighter, but it seemed like the tide of the fight was changing. Mithalane was like a tank, and just kept coming forward.Donaire so fast the camera didn't catch him going to the backstage, grabbing some scissors (not before he took off his own gloves) went back to his opponent, lifted his eye lid, made a slit, went backstage again, put his gloves back on, and came back to the ring in south paw position. Unless you box or have encountered boxers on a regular basis as to care for their safety can you really understand what they go through, especially with a cut. There are fans who think Vitali was stopped prematurely against Lewis. I'm being serious there.Comment
