I'm watching Clottey-Corrales right now, and he really caught fire after this fight, even though it was a natural welter mercilessly beating a natural 135 pounder who started at 130.

What other fights like this put fighters on the map, pretty unjustifiably so?

Pavlik vs Miranda, maybe his fight against Zertuche started the momentum going but the Miranda fight really put him on the map.

    Mijares vs Arce.

    Barrera vs McKinney

Didn't Clottey outweigh him like 20 pounds on fight night? I did think it was funny how Kellerman kept referring to Clottey as an elite fighter, even before he beat Judah. I'm not knocking Clottey, but has he really even now proved himself as an elite fighter?

pacquiao beating barrera was a great way to get on the map.

roy beating toney and hopkins in back to back years was great.

Vitali losing to an undertrained, inactive for a year, Lummox.

A few months later, Tarver also became a bigger name and was more "on the map" after losing to Jones in an overrated performance. Tarver gave away too many rounds staring at Jones, leary of his bodywork, not taking enough chances, and losing a fair decision (despite his b.s. robbery claims). At least one-eyed Vitali took more chances.

I'll hand it to Pookie though, he took care of business in the rematch.

Holyfield really gained respect as a HW in his first loss to Ri**** Bowe.

You gotta make Clottey lead if you want to beat him. Unless your Margarito. Corrales is getting his ass kicked. I love this fight.

How about Malignaggi vs. Cotto? He's known more for taking a beating.

Hatton beating Tszyu, Calzaghe beating Lacy. Well they were on the map already, but just for hardcore fans like us.

Nonito donaire beating vic put him on the map. Even to this day anytime there is an article or someone mentions Donaire they always talk about him and follow it up with he kod Darchi in the 5th to win the belt, becaue outside of that no one really knows him.
