I've never seen Calzaghe bad mouth any fighter, I've seen him say things to sell tickets before a fight but never bad mouth a fighter outside fight build ups.
Personally I like Calslappy as a fighter ! I've watched him for years ! I don't mind attitude ! Toney I love hearing him trash talk it cracks me up everytime ! Nothing wrong with confidence in yourself ! Except for Hamad he annoyed me with his talk ! What I don't like is how all these Calslappy fans think of him as some all time great ! When really I can't think of a defining fight that would put him there and now Calslappy is believing the hype the fans have put on him ! If he wanted to be truly great instead of fighting these guys past their prime why didn't he come to America during his best years and fight them ?
He tried to come to America. Blame Warren for the fact that he didn't. Also, remember when Hopkins backed out of a fight deal in 2002, just days before the contract was due to be signed? Yes, Joe tried to fight him SIX YEARS ago. As far as I know, Warren also tried to arrange a fight with Jones several times. For what it's worth, and I know you can't trust everything that comes out of Frank Warren's mouth, Hopkins and Jones wanted nothing to do with Calzaghe back then. There's a documentary on Calzaghe where Warren talks about it. I forget the name of the doc.
Joe himself has been wanting to fight those guys for years, and he's been on video saying it. I have fights on video going back many years where he's mentioned it in post-fight interviews, etc.
This is the exact problem. People talk **** about Calzaghe because they don't know **** about him. They saw a few fights, and they think they know it all. Well, in boxing, there's a lot of politics. There's a ton of stuff we don't know about, and things are not always what they seem. People talk crap about Joe constantly, and most of it is out of ignorance.
I don't care that much about his personality, I just don't like his fighting style. He's very good, but his style is just too ugly and sloppy for my personal liking.

You remember that Doc. let me know than I might believe ! You can't believe Warren at least 90% of the time ! From what I've read Calslappy would never leave his comfort zone ! Roy said he wouldn't go to England if Joe wanted him he would have to come to America ! Roy said the same about Benn ! As for Hopkins samething he wasn't gonna go to England ! That might be crappy by both fighters ! But if Calslappy wanted it bad enough he would've bought some airline tickets ! As for the contract signing ! I'm not sure with Warrens statement there ! He would've said something like that about RJJ and Benn !
He's not arrogant at all i dont know where u guys get that from..Their's alot worse out there
I agree. Joe is NOTHING like Naseem Hamed.
And personally, I like it when a fighter shows some bravado and does some smack talk. Ali, Ricardo Mayorga, Mike Tyson, Fernando Vargas, Roberto Duran all talked smack leading up to their big fights. And as soon as it's over, they're hugging the guy they just tried to kill.
We got a great sport, with all kinds of personalities. That's one thing that made the WWF (WWE) so popular. The personalities, feuds and storylines made it sort of like a soap opera for men.
Boxing could always use some more pizzazz. Some of that smack talk not only is some funny stuff, it helps attrack new fans to our great sport.

I'll find out which documentary it is and post back. I had 3 or 4 docs on video but my whole boxing video collection got wiped out when had some hard drive errors a few months back. Right now I'm building it back up.
The doc was one of the following titles:
Calzaghe: Prince of Wales
Calzaghe: No Average Joe
Calzaghe: Gloves Off
Calzaghe: On Top of the World
Calzaghe Comes Home
I would. At first I was picking him over Jones but then he said that **** about "The Yanks will be spanked" and it was like 'fuck you, im tired of your **** already.' Im supporting him and he says that and Im like wtf?!! I hope Roy KOs him.
