    Ricky Hatton vs Eamonn Magee

Just bought Ricky Hattons Hitman dvd (for Brits it's like £5 at HMV.)

Just watched the Magee fight. Magee if he was a bit more measured would have stopped him inside 2 rounds, I completely forgot about that fight. Magee was a good fighter imo.

Yea Hatton was in trouble in that one. Dropped in the 1st and hurt in the 2nd if I remember correctly. I think Hatton always had trouble with southpaws, apperntly the only people to beat him as an amateur were lefties, not sure if that's true or not though.

Yeah he hurt him a fair few times IMO.

Also Hatton has thrown that leaping left hook his whole damn life, lol. He threw it against Tszyu imagine if Tszyu timed him. Damn............He'd be coming around about now.

I remember that fight, also the war he had with Jon Thaxton. Some of those early Hatton fights were his best fights.

Yeah and he got hurt in both of them too, far more than the Lazcano fight. Hatton doesn't really look like he's slipped to me, he is what he is.

Yea it's pretty funny how a top level fighter can make such a blatent mistake and keep doing it, even after it gets him KTFO.

I put Hatton in the same tax bracket as David Haye. Both have vulnerabilities but will go for it anyway when the bell rings.

And he'll kick Malignaggi all over the shop because the guy really can't punch. I think people overthink boxing. It's not like Malignaggi is quick enough to make Hatton have to keep resetting his feet and he has nothing for Ricky once he get's inside.

Hatton will eat Malignaggi. People think Hatton is slow, they've forgotten!

That was actually a really good performance from Ricky. He'd never faced a southpaw of Magee's quality up until then.

He was dropped by a perfect right hook if i remember right, then hurt in the 2nd. Dont think he was ever close to being stopped - funny how every time he gets tagged, hes "almost KOed" (see Lazcano).

He showed good skill in this one for anyone who thinks he has none. Magee seemed to stand in that same spot in the corner the whole fight trying to bait him in. Ricky adapted well. Good fight.
